By soaking the towel in regular tap water and ringing it out, it provides a nice cooling effect when placed around the neck. When it dries out, just do it again, and again, and again! It's amazing the difference it makes. Even when you're sitting in the shade, this can provide relief from a sunburn or other heat exhaustion.
