Does it job well

It looked like a nice flattening stone, but unfortunately, the stone was broken in two pieces when it arrived so I had to send it back

I've used varieties of whet stones and have at least a half dozen. Something that I've always struggled with was securing the stone on a counter or table top. I've always used a wet washcloth. Yeah, it kind of worked, but I never really knew about these kinds of stone holders until watching some sharpening videos.This unit is very quickly adustable to practically any size that most of us will ever run into. It firmly grasps the stone. I have one stone that I was concerned might not work, since it's a relatively thin double sided diamond stone--about 1/4" thick. The holder still holds this stone properly without getting in the way of the blade during sharpening.If you use stones and haven't found a good holding system, this unit won't break the bank and you'll wonder how you ever went without it. Good construction, quality material, and non-slip.

Does its job good value for the money would recommend

The POWERTEC Sharpening Stone Holder is the ideal way to secure your sharpening stones so that you have both hands free during the process. It is much safer than trying to wield your straight razor, knife, or other sharp-edged tool with only one hand. The stone stays secured and doesn't move a lot with the rubber sections of the holder. Hubby definitely recommends the POWERTEC Sharpening Stone Holder!

Works well with my 6" DMT diamond stones. Has not slipped on any surface thus far (painted wood, raw wood, polyurethaned wood, glass, granite, laminate counter top). Has a decent amount of weight and doesn't wobble when sharpening. I see comments here about rusting, but I'm using dry diamond stones and clean the swarf with water after using, so mine hasn't gotten wet. That being said, if rust concerns you, DO SOMETHING to prevent it. Coat it in a silicone spray or beeswax or something of that nature before using. THAT being said, so what if it rusts? As long as the threads don't rust away (again, DOING SOMETHING to prevent that helps), then it functions properly. Steel tools WILL get rusty if used. That's life.
