where do i get a replacement lighter for the iroda rc 30

Check the bottom of the refill that was in the iroda. Mine was refillable from any standard butane refill tank.

how do you change out the lighter

Pull apart the top half and the bottom half. The spent lighter can be lifted right out of the bottom half and a fresh one can be dropped into place. Keep in mind to only use Scripto-style rectangular lighters as round Bics will not fit. Also keep in mind that the butane in disposable lighters is of variable quality and may not always produce reliable results. The fuel cell that comes with the torch is refillable (it's basically a lighter without the flint) and can be refilled with a quality butane like Vector for good performance. Use disposable lighters as a backup.

Is the piezoelectric lifetime?

Nothing these days is lifetime, there will always be a ceiling on manufactured goods. I'm pretty sure, from what I've heard from Iroda, is that you should probably get around 2,000 ignites. I know they've tested the PT-200 and that's what the determined. the MJ-300 has a little different ignter that the PT-200, however that's what I would expect. I've sold thousands of these MJ-300's over the years and it's been a really good product for me, very few defectives. HOpe this helps.

Can it be used as a kitchen culinary torch?

The flame on the Iroda MJ-300 does not get quite as big as the flames on the culinary torches that I am used to, but otherwise it could reasonably serve a similar function (on a smaller scale).
