OXO Good Grips Jar Opener with Base Pad

This has been such a beneficial kitchen tool! Makes opening any jar easy, especially if you have arthritis or other limitations of hands or wrists! The base pad that comes with the opener is a great addition and really helps the gripper to work it's best! Worth every penny!

Bit unintuitive to use but easy and reliable once you get the hang of it.

Works well & easy to apply/use. Really handy to open Costco's 2/2 gal. water bottels--those are difficult to open. Really handy for those with hand arthritis.

These handy jar openers are great quality and really help with hard-to-open jars. Great to have around the kitchen and not have to struggle opening stuff. A must-have for my family!

Have only used it a couple of times but it worked well. Some jar openers don't open large jars, but this looks like it can handle any size container I might need to open. I was able to open a small carton of half and half that is really hard to open because I can't get a grip on the cap.

Arthritis is a b*tch. I’m tired of lining up jars by the door, waiting for the mail carrier to lend a hand. You know that phase in a child’s life where they yell ‘I can do it myself’? Well, at the other end of life, I still like to do some things myself. I am joyously finding no jar is impossible. Sometimes all I need to use is opener, with the comfortable handle giving me the leverage I need. Other jars, when my thumbs are especially hurting, I simply set the jar on the silicone pad included with the opener, and pop, the jar opens with surprising ease. (They thought of everything!) Sounds kinda silly, but now I look forward to opening a jar. Seriously, this opener has been a game changer for me.

I am 76 years old and getting weaker. Jars can be hard to open! This opener does work, but I think it is hard to use. It doesn't have enough leverage, so I still use my Craftsman channel lock pliers.

This tool is my backup if the OXO Good Grips Twisting Jar Opener with Basepad doesn't do the job. I submitted a separate review for that tool. I bought both of these a couple of weeks ago and, so far, so good. Both work well - what you're trying to open determines which OXO jar opener to use. They're both easily stored and both work well doing what they're designed to do. I learned that neither of these OXO jar openers require brute strength/downward pressure. Now, I have an alternative if the lid size is bigger than the capability of the tool. So far, either tool works easily and works well. I gave both of these jar openers a rating of "4" because both of them are made of plastic. I hope both are sturdy and hold up.

Easy to use

Groot toestel dat werkt om de deksels van bokalen te openen. Gelukkig staat er een pijl op het toestel zodat je weet in welke richting je moet draaien. Eén keer goed geplaatst is het met het hefboomeffect gemakkelijk om een deksel los te maken.

Produit acheté il y a quelques années. Pas très pratique à utiliser. Il faut vraiment trouver le couvercle adapté sinon quand vous tournez l'ustensile dérape.
