Easy Install. Saved Hundreds!
My 30-year old furnace stopped working. After doing some basic troubleshooting (thanks to Youtube) I figured out the control board broke, because the hot surface ignitor was not lighting up. (There was no voltage going to the ignitor from the board). The board that broke was a White Rodgers 50E47-70 and it lasted 2 years. It had failed on me 3 times in the past 6 years. First thing I did was search ebay for a used part, but none were available. I then did some research and found that this universal board was the replacement for my old board.I noticed that this universal board had some different labels and extra slots for the wiring, so I wasn't sure if I would be up to the task. When my old board broke 2 years ago I called an HVAC guy and they quoted me over $800 for parts & labor. I told them no. At that time, I went on ebay and found an identical used part for $50 and installed it myself. Simple.I found the PDF installation instructions for this new universal board online and looked them over before I placed my order on Amazon. I wanted to be sure I could do the job. It was easier than I thought. You don't even need to follow the wiring diagrams in the instructions if you're replacing an old White Rodgers board. Just remove each wire one by one from the old board and attach it to the same label on the new board. Then read the instructions for the couple of wires that don't have the exact labels. (The instructions said to remove the quick connects from 2 of the old wires and attach the new quick connects included, but I chose not to). Several program keys are included. Look up your old model number and it will tell you exactly which program key to use. Then carefully break the plastic program key off from the strip and slide it into the side of the new board. It took about 15 minutes to install the new board and I did same-day shipping through Amazon, which was free for Prime members. The screw holes were in the same place as the old White Rodgers board, which made it very easy to install. The furnace is up and running and I have heat again! If I had called an HVAC guy he would have charged me a fee just to come out to diagnose the problem, then an additional fee for the part and labor. I saved hundreds of dollars doing it myself. Thanks to Amazon for having this part at a fair price and for having same-day shipping available in my area.

did the trick
Do a little homework to get a bit smart. Use literature to cross check replacement part number. Follow instructions. Way cheaper than a new furnace.

Save a bunch - DIY
My furnace broke down on Thanksgiving morning when I first turned on - pilot light came on with some clicking sound and nothing happened after that. It's quoted for $700 to replace controller (replaced 50E47-60 with this universal unit). I thought to myself "get out of here" to the service guy. It's outrageous. After learning from Youtube and reading from internet, the problem is controller (even I went ahead and ordered this and sequencer, cost me double to get it locally), old sequencer is still OK - expected 20ohms for coil and no connection between terminals. It's easy to replace - make sure you label all the wires and read the new cross-reference table and small prints carefully - but it's simple. In my case is BLUE card plus green ground connector. I double checked again before turning on power. I'm very happy with it, save me a bunch of money. A quote to replace entire decent system is between 9K-11K for 14 SEER.

Good for ten years!
I bought one of these ten years ago. I just replaced it with a new one that is identical. The seemingly age related failure each time I needed a replacement was that the unit stopped relaying 120v to the hot surface igniter. The first time I just replaced the unit. This time I looked into the electronics of the thing. A relay could be replaced to solve the issue if you are handy with a soldering iron and good at diagnosing the issue. However, if you value your time, ordering a new unit (with 2-day shipping) is likely more economical. The unit arrived and I had it installed within 20 minutes. Maybe I'll replace the relay of the old one to keep as a backup for ten years down the road!

Saves money, simple. You can do it!
Saved is from hundreds of bucks to an HVAC guy. Easy to troubleshoot... Get on YouTube. You can do this! Super simple, only takes a screwdriver or two. Changed my HVAC to run on more efficient cycles also so don't freak out when you first install it and it doesn't light instantly, this one run the fan to clear out the intake line a minute before it lights. It also runs the blower a minute after the burner shuts off to get all the residual heat out of the ducts so the air will be cool at the end of each heat cycle as opposed to the older ones which let that heat dissapte into the basement, walls, etc.

Quick fix
I don't know if I should rate this one star or more.I just purchased a house and this control board went out on me, bought a new one and fired right up.From a lot of searching, apparently these boards fail often (every couple of years) which is ridiculous for how pricey they are. To expensive to have a spare just sitting in the closet but important enough that you'll spend it anyways because you have to.Nevertheless, simple swap just took a few minutes and probably saved a hundred ddollars doing it myself.

Time of shipping and receiving.
Fixed my furnace after my previous control burned up the igniter relay. Had enough info on my 35 year old furnace to pick the correct timing sequence to get my heat back on.

Easy to install, works great
Have an older Clare propane furnace in my shop. It quit and after some troubleshooting determined the control module was bad. Ordered the new one , got it in 2 days! Fit perfectly, the old furnace is putting out heat again. Easy to install, just match the wires on the old controller terminals to the new one. Super easy
