The touch switch requires a long press to turn on or off and just the barest touch to switch between heat and cool. I've accidentally brushed the touch pad and discovered my previously cold soda turned hot - not fun on a hot day!. I've had to tape a bit of translucent plastic over the touch sensor (so I can see the light and make sure it's correct) in order to stop this nonsense. Frankly - a long press for ANY change strikes me as a good idea for a device like this. I've always been told that it's bad for reliability to switch thermoelectric modules directly between heating/cooling, so that's another reason this easy inadvertent switching might be bad.The fan in the unit I received is not unreasonably loud and the cooling effect is good - as long as it STAYS in that mode - but I really cannot recommend this unit because of the ease with which it can be switched between heating and cooling.

I wanted something to keep my water cold while driving. This product keeps just the bottom of the bottle cold. Would be better if the sides of the cup would get cold also, but only the bottom does. Good idea but save your money if your wanting to keep drinks cold. I don't drink coffee or hot drinks so can't comment on the heating side of the cup.

This makes a loud annoying sound the entire time it's on. It killed my car battery. It should be made to fit bigger cups. It turns off on it's own if you don't use the extended piece, but then it makes it wobble all over as you're driving possibly spilling your drink everywhere if it isn't topped. Otherwise it did heat and cool as advertised.

It was a present for my brother. He is really happy about it

I'm a truck driver and have had 2 of these. I found the cooler and warmer functions work ok. Nothing wonderful, but usable enough. However, after about 3 months my first one stopped cooling. So, got another one and now after about 2 months, the warmer function no longer works. Unsure how durable this would be in a regular car. Trucks ride rougher and bounce along much more than a regular car. Anyway, gonna try a different type now.

very disappointed it's very very top heavy and won't stay in my cars stock drink holder... kind of defeats the point of having a cool or hot drink if it wont stay upright.
