This thing has everything you want in a good, solid mic stand. I am 6'3" and it adjusts plenty high for even me to stand and sing into a mic. It is black powder coated steel, has rubber tips on the feet so it won't slide around. The adjusting knobs for tightening and loosing. There's even a metal rod you can use to keep the upright part from collapsing down which snaps into several pre drilled holes if you wish to use it. The only thing that might bother some folks is that it doesn't collapse and fold down as far as some that you can carry in a bag. But I've found that the types of stands that collapse and fold, etc for more convenient carrying are usually flimsier or have to be taken apart. I really can't think of anything negative to say about this stand. It lives up to its description!! Hard to believe this stand is that inexpensive. You can adjust it down for sitting on a stool or standing or anywhere in between and the boom pole is also fully adjustable. It doesn't sag or change position once you have it adjusted and with everything tightened this mic stand will stay where you set it.

I am working on some tutorial videos and needed a boom stand that would allow me to work on these videos Looking for in purchase: -Boom stand -Height over 75” Design: This is extremely well built and sturdy. The stand does not feel flimsy in any way and the weight to it does not make me feel that it will fall over at any time. It raises over 75” (I believe that the description says that it will go to 78”). There are multiple adjustments on the stand that will allow you to move the mic to the exact direction that you need without a lot of fuss. Issues: I wish there was some sort of cord clip on the boom portion of the stand that held the cord in place, this is minor though and easily over looked at the price point. Cost: $24.51 Positives: ++Construction ++Design ++Price Negatives: --Need for a cord clip Final Thoughts: I love this stand and the purchase price is unbelievable. This is an easy item to recommend and I can see why it is so popular on Amazon. Would I recommend: Absolutely. I am not sure you are going to find anything better.

Most mic stands with booms have an individually foldable 3-leg configuration. This stand's telescoping base will provide a much more stable mic stand. That said, one thing I did notice is the positioning of the legs in respect to the boom is critical when you fully extend the boom with a mic on it. Depending on the weight of the mic, the stand may tip over if the boom is not aligned with one leg of the stand. If aligned between 2 legs, it may tip. Not a negative, just an observation. Others have said the boom is not long enough. I suppose that depends on how it is used. My wife uses hers at a keyboard with the mic stand to her left. With the boom fully extended it positions the mic appropriately at the center of the keys. Also works well with her guitar while singing. I have purchased other Pyle equipment and am very pleased with their excellent quality.

Seems to be a pretty sturdy foldable design, the legs kick out to a full 2ft. 10in spread at max, I can hang my omni condenser mic safely with everything at full extension. The safety pin in the top tube is a nice touch to keep the poles from telescoping under the weight. The max extension with the legs fully extended is about 7ft. The boom can then be angled up to get another foot or so extra height. So if you're doing a classic RCA stereo mic technique on a band or ensemble, you can get above them for best stereo imaging. Everything can be clamped down adequately to hold a mic that weighs a few pounds. Nothing is going to creep on you. The boom is about 2 ft. Long. Not super long, but enough to put the mic out into free space pretty well. Not much of a counterweight, I think I'd like to see one three times as big. I ordered the two pack and of them came broken where the extension boom clamp tightens down. Apparently this isn't abs plastic or some high-impact plastic, so be careful with them. I started a return on the broken one, the packaging appeared fine. I will order another one to replace the broken one. For the money, not terrible, I would like to see the plastic parts be made less brittle. The tube and legs, braces and all are metal, which is good. Weight of the stand, without a mic is about 3 pounds, not too light, I think the wide leg stance will keep it from being knocked over by boisterous kids during the Christmas concert. I'm making a professional recording to be used for a Christmas radio broadcast and I can't afford nice Atlas stands, so I'll make do with these. Overall, not bad. I've had my Radio Shack mic stands for over 30 years now, and they cost about the same back then. If these last that long, I'll be dead by then! LOL.

I needed a couple budget friendly mic stands for overheads and needed something that would be stable, sturdy, and tall, so I bought a pair of these Pyle PMKS56 stands based on the reviews I found here on Amazon. After receiving them and setting them up, I felt no reservation in mounting up a pair of C414s on them. They feel sturdy and secure, with plenty of adjustment. Maxing out their extended height, plus the extension of the boom, got them up where I needed them (approximate 10'). All the adjustment points are easy to use and are plenty secure; and while adjustment collars are plastic, they should be plenty durable for most users/purposes. The stands fold easily enough, and are compact and light enough to pack up and haul around no problem. Overall, these are great quality and very fairly priced. Highly recommend.

I chose this boom arm stand based off reviews saying it is "heavy duty", "not plastic parts" and "holds up a heavy mic with ease". This stand can be extended to a height right up to the ceiling with the boom arm horizontal! So having a mic held above you while standing isn't an issue. The fulcrum is all metal and you can really crank it to hold the boom in place though heavy mics may pull down on it still. Adding some weight to the other end is a simple thing or just don't have the arm all the way to one side. It's fully adjustable. My Rode NT USB mic's adapter screwed perfectly on this so didn't need any adapter. Very rugged, a bit heavy, but that helps keep it upright which is a good thing and I can still easily lift/carry one-handed. I like the tripod at the bottom, it can be shifted up or down which helps lower or raise the height more while also narrowing or widening the base for stability. This means I can work it into smaller spaces or open it up if I have room. The boom arm doesn't rotate, but unscrews, so you likely want to adjust the middle shaft (height) to rotate it where needed.

So first off, for less than 30 bucks I didn’t expect much but didn’t really need anything amazing but I’ve been around a lot of mic stands and I was honestly how surprised I was with how sturdy and solid this thing was, mics have a little weight so I didn’t want it to feel super light and wobbly and it def isn’t, no parts of it feel light or cheap this think is solid all parts were flawless and worked perfectly, def a score, I hope who ever is looking for an affordable mic stands finds this review.

I'm on my 3rd one! This is a great stand for a great price IF: It primarily stays in one place and you need a longer arm to reach whatever your mic-ing up. It has long legs that can fit around certain objects like a giant pedal board (I often use the HeadRush Prime). This is a terrible stand IF: You gig more than once a week with it. Everything strips!! And strips fast! Which is really saying something because most stands don't last as long as you want them too. The arm will go limp, the legs will come undone, the part that connects the arm to the bottom have will fall off... etc. It's also bad for anytime you need to set up in a tight spot. That being said, I like the way it works for one of my set ups so much that I just bought my 3rd one, which is still cheaper than buying one like this from a music store somewhere more legit (You can spend $150.00 on one of these). I plan to modify it myself so that I can get a longer life out of it, and maybe even try to fix one of my older ones. Recommend: Making sure all the screws and bolts are tight when you get it and keep an eye on them. Also be sure to be extra careful, making sure you always loosen it when adjusting the boom arm. Don't be lazy like me!

I've bought several stands from Amazon - sight unseen - in the past. They're always a bit flimsy. This stand, however, is super strong. It feels well-made, with sufficient weight to keep it stable, even when the arm is fully extended. 5 stars. Would buy again.

I purchased a microphone stand before and it never held up to adjustments. Pyle makes a higher quality stand with metal adjustments. It was worth the extra few dollars I spent!
