Hearing Aid Dispensing Training Manual

I've taken training courses and had books from those courses in the past. I was getting close to taking a state exam and needed additional info. I purchased hearing aid dispensing training manual and learned more about the hands on aspect of dispensing in one weekend than anything else that I've had through courses or purchased elsewhere. (I've been reading and studying those books for over a year). The knowledge and experience that is presented in this text is exceptional. If you are someone that is trying to pass a state required practical examination to become a licensed dispenser, this read is worth your time and it's very clear and easy to follow. Lastly, this Manual covered more on masking than anything else I've seen or come across anywhere else. There is a whole chapter dedicated to masking which is a big section on the licensing exam that I took. Hands down worth every penny!

I've trained with two Audiologist and purchased a few books for my Hearing Instrument License and was struggling with masking but this book opened my eyes and was very helpful and explained step by step in basic terminology. Another positive are the examples from patients complaining and to fitting issues that I seen on my written exam. I'm a very hands on type of learner and I benefitted a lot on the Practical training section/script. I highly recommend this book!!!

For the price, this book is ridiculously thin. The information can be found elsewhere for a lot less money. I'm very disappointed in it. This is indicative of the entire industry really. All about money.

The content is great when one considers how most books on this subject are poorly written, but the price for about 150 pages of content is sinful. This book has a great format, is clear, direct, and easy to use. I will be using it extensively as I progress in my apprenticeship, mostly because other materials I've ordered (even more over-priced) are written to confuse, bewilder, and simply cause one to find a different career path. Thank you to the author for creating this great book, but the publisher should do something to reduce the cost.
