Numbers are easy to use

We had 2 of these installed by a service that manages home entertainment systems. They work great when they work, but over the years they regularly get messed up in one way or another, small things like suddenly the volume doesn't work or whatnot, so we'd need to call the service back to the tune of over $100 per visit to fix it, because they managed it with their software. Then we lost one of the remotes.Well, both my husband and I are computer programmers by profession, so I decided in the end that we should be able to figure this out on our own, especially since there are dozens of YouTube videos explaining exactly how to do it. I purchased it, and took awhile to get around to installing it, then struggled because I couldn't find the software so I put it aside for a bit, then finally cleared an entire evening to figure it out and discovered that IT'S NO LONGER POSSIBLE TO DO IT YOURSELF. They have cut off the software, so all those online tutorials that explain exactly how to do it are useless. Now it's too late for me to return this useless piece of machinery because it's been longer than 30 days since I purchased it, so I'm out $325 and I have no universal remote. I'd like to point out that NOWHERE on the product page does it specify that I need to hire an external service to program the remote. I've programmed the back end code on huge billing systems for utility companies all over the country. I think I can program the freaking remote, unless you withhold the necessary software.I guess I can start saving up to have the network people come back and be beholden to them forever (a nice maintenance fee of, oh, at least $600 per year, given that we have 2 of these in our house and they both regularly glitch out), or I can just throw this in the trash and purchase another remote that I can program myself. What a great choice I get to make.***Edit - I have emailed back and forth with this seller several times. Here's how it went after I explained the situation in an email through Amazon which contained all my order information: 12/9/17: They ask me when I purchased it. I replied immediately with the purchase date. January 6, 2018 - I email again asked for resolution, they reply asking for my order number, which I immediately provide. January 25 - I email again asked for a resolution, they never reply. I give up. I've attached the wonderful bill I got from our tech guys for the installation, which I can assume will be repeated over and over in the coming years every time it needs to be reprogrammed. Save yourselves thousands of dollars over the years - buy a different remote!!! And never from these yahoos.

Completely up to par I am a programmer so it Was a snap to install and at times it was quicker than the distributor

Perfect. Met all expectations

This remote is so easy to use - it's perfect for me since I'm not an electronics expert.

Terrible remote. Doesn't control new Apple TV. Hardly ever recognizes the signal. Just switched from control 4 to this and it has been a disaster.
