Great for a beginner
This is my honest review. As a person who has done some deep shadow work, this isn’t it, and if you have already done shadow work, I feel like you may have already touched base on some of these topics. This journal is for a beginner in my eyes. It eases you into shadow work, because like me if you have dove into it, you know it can be an overwhelming and emotional experience. So I would recommend this to someone who has never done shadow work before just for them to get an understanding and an understanding of things to focus on. For me the meditations are too short (I used the Spotify recordings), but I did find them some what useful because it did help to address or re address some things I’m not acknowledging and will help me go from there. I think it is a good outline and has great intention. I would love to see this author creat something more lengthy and more in-depth though.

Not intimidating, simple, easy, helpful
Helpful. Simple and easy. Exercises aren’t time consuming, and actually work. Recommend it to my therapist and she added it to her lending library. Comes with directions for the audio of the meditations. It’s a small workbook, so I have been writing my reflections in a notebook so I can track my progress as I do the exercises multiple times.

Not exactly what im looking for
This just didnt cover all the grounds I was hoping for. I was looking for something that would give me enough journalling prompts to go through a whole year. Instead it is more a one week delve to just gloss over the intensity of shadow work.

Highly recommended for Self Care, Self Compassion and Self Care
OMG this is a brilliant little book. I went through the simple exercises and tears of relief flowed out of me, yet I also felt safer emotionally than I had done in ages. Highly recommended.

Useless meditations
The journal is useful and well thought-out, I enjoyed working on the first couple of chapters. I looked up the authors meditations up on Spotify because she got them all in a playlist there, just to realise they're absolutely useless. They require us to dig deep, but how??? They're 5-6 minutes long each. She doesn't ease us into the meditation, doesn't allow us time to relax and comfortably dive in, doesn't leave time to do the tasks she describes while in the meditative state. She rushes through the whole hing and it stresses me out trying to keep up with her.I do another meditation beforehand to prepare me for her tracks, but I find myself losing whatever tranquility I obtained before. She does me more harm than good to be frank. Am I the inadequate one here? I'm on an intermediate level, but maybe I'm the only one not getting the hang of this. Am I supposed to keep pausing and unpausing the track? How is that a meditation then? Her past lives meditation was the last straw for me. How can she cram something like THAT into 6 minutes? I can't believe I'm the only one dissatisfied.
