Beautiful and Informative––Learn about a whole new aspect of New York!
Leslie Adatto discovered rooftops and changed the world for those lucky enough to follow her blog or read her earlier book. The pictures by Clay Williams are pieces of art in themselves, but the true achievement is the discovery that the tops of buildings in New York are just as alive and enthralling as the city below. Unique restaurants, gardens that provide locally grown food, and art exhibits are revealed along with directions on how to get to them. The range of places profiled is astonishing––from a sky-high ice-skating rink to summer film series to a Holocaust memorial––and any kind of food, drink, or atmosphere you can think of. Enjoy the book while taking notes on all the places you don't want to miss next time you're in New York. You're going to feel like your feet never touch the ground.

A lovely, interesting tour of surprising places.
This is a charming book, perfect for relaxed browsing during spare moments. The huge variety of hidden rooftop gems are described in inspiring detail and presented with large, beautiful photos. Until now I have congratulated myself on successfully avoiding New York City, which to me seems large, noisy, dirty, and uninviting. But this lovely book shows another side - intimate, quiet, green, and built on a very human scale. There are bars and restaurants, of course, but also community gardens, a spa, a museum, a farm... If I'm ever convinced to visit NYC I will definitely be taking this book with me.

THE definitive guide to NYC rooftops
Leslie is the original rooftop explorer/author in NYC. Her first book on rooftops, Roof Explorer's Guide, was my go-to book on cool outdoor places to explore and experience for several years. This new book has 10 more locations than the original, and 70-ish that weren't in the first book. It's time to start checking them off the list...!
