I love this stuff!
This sunscreen has six inactive ingredients all of which I recognize and know. 4 of them are oils from familiar healing plants and the other from our friends, bees. The active ingredient is zinc oxide, which is the sunscreen element. First I would like to say what makes this safe is the active ingredient isn't being absorbed into your skin like the oil free sunscreens you find in a drug store. That is why you may look like a "ghost" to start and yes you will be a little oily but in a moisturizing way. Also a little goes a long way. And just like w any other herbal medicine/product/remedy you may need more applications and some patience. I have been using Badger balm sunscreen for years and have never been burned. Nor have the kids or anyone else I have offered it to, to use. And I've used at music festivals when I have been in the sun for hours! Apply it before you leave and as soon as you get in the sun. Take your time, you will probably need to rub it in for awhile. Think of it as a time to appreciate and love your body. If your kids look ghostly, who cares they are safe from chemicals and the sun. I have spent hours researching natural sunscreen and this is the only brand I will use. They have other scents and formulas but honestly I love calendula for its skin healing properties and chamomile too. I personally love the smell of calendula which is what you will smell the most after applying. The unscented on the other hand is very unpleasant. I have sensitive acne prone skin and this does not bother me. Don't be deterred by negative reviews claiming this doesn't work because it does. Remember you need to reapply many times if you are at the beach for hours on end. If that is too much switch to another brand. Even a less "safe" sunscreen is better than sunburn.

Apply evenly, before getting fully dressed.
I have used this on my granddaughter since she was 1 yr old. Works great, has zinc as an ingredient, which I used on my children when they were young. You only need a small amount and I spread evenly, let dry a few minutes and I put on her swimwear. I only need to reapply if she has been in and out of the water and drying herself off, and probably just as a precaution, in case she happened to rub it off. She has never had any bad reactions to the cream and is good about putting it on. Because it does contain zinc you can smell some of it but the other ingredients help it to smell pleasant. I also use the Badger stick for faces. I try to keep them out of the sun and in a bag of their own, because it is a lotion it will melt and get very hot in the sun. We go to the river and lake every year and has been fine in my bag under the shade, if I feel it has gotten too warm , I just pop the plastic bag that I keep it in, in the water or cooler for less than a minute and it cools it right down. Until something else comes along, this is my go to. Also, we dont let her be exposed to a lot of sun and use hats, white oversized, long sleeve, cotton tshirts as cover ups. Living in SoCalifornia, sun is something we live with and try to do our best at protection.

Great daily face sunscreen
I absolutely love this sunscreen -- I find it lighter in weight than some of the other mineral sunscreens I've tried (I used to use Banana Boat Natural Reflect for babies) and easier to apply. It does leave the purple/white cast, but it disappears quickly. I am very fair-skinned, though, so it may be different for someone with a darker skin tone.My skin is incredibly sensitive and most sunscreens leave me with hives, but this sunscreen actually soothes my skin. Plus, the high percentage of zinc actually helps keep my pores looking clear and reduces acne. My hyper pigmentation is reducing and my skin tone looks more even, so I even wear this on days when I'm not planning on going outdoors. The only negative is the scent -- it's not bad, exactly, but it's odd. It smells a bit like cardboard, or an unscented candle. The scent does fade very quickly, though, and it isn't too strong.

Great non-toxic sunscreen
Badger makes excellent products. Minimal ingredient list. Smells decent. I've tried other mineral sunscreens for kids and still like this one the best.Yes, this is thick and it does leave a "white cast" but most mineral sunscreens do. It does fade after a bit if you rub it in well. And yes, it is greasy - again, mineral sunscreens are. I'll deal with the white cast & greasiness in return for non toxic ingredients. Until my kid complains about these things, I'll continue to use it.

Favorite baby sunscreen
I typically don’t like to use sunscreen unless we’re in the sun for prolonged periods of time without shade. I needed something very safe and clean for my fair and sensitive-skinned 6 month old son that I would feel comfortable putting on his skin. This product hit all qualifications and then some! It went on nicely and didn’t leave a thick white residue like some mineral sunscreens do and I was happy with the level of protection it gave my son when we went swimming. I’m most thrilled that this is non-toxic and safe for my little. I will definitely purchase this again!

Good for Sensitive Skin
I have to use this type of sunscreen for my child who is allergic to pretty much everything that goes on her skin. I tried regular suncreen and she broke out in hives. I do wish this wasn't so thick as it is hard to apply and you have to use a lot. And with the price tag, I mainly just try to keep her covered up so I don't have to use as much.

BEST Baby Sunscreen
This is the best, cleanest sunscreen I have found. My sister and I were both researching clean sunscreens at the same time and sending each other links for the other to check out; we both ended up ordering this product and sharing the links with each other within a few moments time. I am completely comfortable using this on my baby. It does take some rubbing in, but that’s not a big issue. Always pleased with Badger products, and I was so thrilled with this one in particular.

Nano Zinc - do NOT use on children
As others have said, I now notice that the product I was sent contains nano zinc. As the attached screenshot from Yuka app explains, these particles may be toxic and the risk is particularly high in children under 3. Outrageous that Badger was selling this late 2022 in their "for babies" cream, which I am now throwing in the bin. Bad Badger.

Wrong description, contains nano zinc
I was specifically looking for a cream without nano zinc, I read the product description, it says here that it does not contain nano zinc. In reality, it is present in this cream, which is indicated on the package received.

Contains nano zinc
The photo and the description of this product are wrong. I was searching specifically for a sunscreen with NON nano zinc, and I received one with nano zinc....
