Works well as an organ shoe.
I purchased these shoes for playing the organ. A good pair of shoes makes a world of difference for organ pedal work, and regular dress shoes don't work well because they're too big and the soles are too thick. In the past, I've used Organmaster shoes, which are very similar (I think Organmasters may actually be made by the same manufacturer). Organmasters have been out of stock for a long time, and I needed a second pair, so I decided to give these a try.I'm pleased so far. For pedal work on the organ, you need a shoe with a thin but fairly rigid sole, with a narrow overall profile (you don't want the soles extending out to the sides) and a solid, built-up heel. These shoes meet all those requirements. The sole itself is suede, which is perfect as it slides when needed but isn't too slippery on the pedals.I believe Organmaster shoes also have a steel bar in the shank, which should help them stay rigid and facilitate heel-toe playing and the operation of swell pedals. I don't think these have that, but at least when brand new, they still seem rigid enough. I guess I'll see as they break in whether they become TOO flexible. My Organmasters are size 11.5, and I've always found them to be slightly too tight, but I was willing to accept that in order to keep the profile of my feet as small as possible on the pedals. I ordered these in size 12, and I'm pleased. They are more comfortable than the too-small size (obviously) and work just as well. 12 is also the size I usually wear in normal dress shoes (I typically wear Florsheim shoes in 12D).It should be noted that these are fake leather. That wouldn't be obvious from 20 feet away, and they still look nice, but when you handle the shoes it's clear that they aren't real leather. That's okay with me as I needed these shoes to be functional and to look nice with a suit, but I also didn't want to spend a lot. I believe Capezio does make a similar shoe in real leather, but those are much more expensive. One other comment--if you buy these (or any other shoes) specifically for organ playing, don't wear them outside and don't use them for anything else besides playing. You really want the soles to stay clean, to protect the pedals from grit, etc., and to preserve the proper balance between being able to slide over the pedals without sliding too much. In any case, these would not be comfortable for anything except organ playing (and dancing, I suppose, although that is not one of my skills!)

Use Prime Wardrobe if you can.
These are great and feel great. However the fit and size are all over the place! In general they run about 1/2 size small. That being said, they still are very snug, but that is the way they should be. Snug, but not pinching or hurting in any way. Like a nice fitting glove for your hands. The first pair I ordered, I went the half size bigger and when I got them, the left felt snug and nice but the right, for some reason had a defect in the heel that really hurt as I moved around. I took off and tried to see what was causing it and really couldn't see or feel anything wrong with my hands. So, not giving up, I sent those back and ordered 4 more pair, 2 different sizes in 2 different widths with prime wardrobe including the exact same size I just sent back. That was great! Found the 11M to fit very nice. Snug and comfortable. My original Size ordered at 11W I decided was not quite right again, and so that and the other 2 pairs went back and I kept the 11M. Using Prime Wardrobe was a must for these shoes.

Crazy Size Variations - Use Amazon Wardrobe for Multiple Sizes
Bought these shoes because the shoes offered at the place we are taking our dance classes are more than twice the price of these. However, it took 3 separate orders to get the right sizes. I first ordered a 12.5 Wide, which is a half to one full size larger than the shoes I wear. They were the perfect length but not wide enough, and the inside of the shoe even said it was 12.5 wide. So I returned those for a 13 wide, thinking that would give me enough width with the slightly longer size. The 13 wide much longer than the 12.5, width wise perfect. But my heel was sliding a lot due to the fact they were to long, so after going through 2 different sized shoes, I bought 2 more pairs: a 12.5 wide (again, wondering if I had just been to picky the first time, and had read a few reviews about inconsistent sizes) and a 13 M. Just tried on both. This time around, the 12.5 Wide was the PERFECT width, but still feels a bit to long, and is nowhere near as tight as the first 12.5 Wide was. The 13 M seemed to fit better than to original 13 Wide (length wise). Long story short, use your Amazon Prime Wardrobe when buying these shoes, as there seems to be no consistency in sizes... kind of makes you wonder a bit why 2 pairs that are the "same size," and one is to small while the other is perfect. If they fall apart or last longer than expected I will happily edit my review in the future.

These are the best shoes I have bought so far for dancing
(Adding, I did purchase a larger size and although more comfortable, they need to be just a litter wider to be of better comfort. Because of the material on the bottom I have begun wearing them only on the dance floor. I still enjoy wearing them.) These are the best shoes I have bought so far for dancing. I only wear them once a week in a ballroom dancing class. I had ordered, I believe 11-1/2, They seemed a little tight. I have a lot of feet problems, especially the bottoms. I did put in the cushions but it made the shoes to tight. However for the price those shoes are a good buy. They were light and soft. And I noticed right away the tongue was shorter and not hard and did not cut into my foot as I danced. I may go ahead and purchase a 12 to see what happens.. Even as is these shoes are the best I have had.

Comfy but not Classy
These are extremely comfy, great for dancing. They just are not the most stylist. They are more functional than stylist.

Very happy with my first pair of dancing shoes!
The shoes are very well made, the uppers are soft/thin leather, the soul has nice foam padding (inside the shoe), the bottom of the soul has suede for just the right amount of friction on the dance floor. I ordered a half size larger than my "normal" because someone had said they are smaller than US made shoes for a given size (they are made in China). They are very light also. I wore them and danced nearly 3 hours for my first use, and by the end my feet were pretty tired/sore but initially they were very comfortable. They are a very small looking shoe on the outside, so if I had it to do over again, I would go ahead and get a full size larger. They came actually laced up like the picture shows. I never saw that before, very nice. I will stick with this brand!

Ordered 1 size up and perfect fit
I am very leery about buying footwear online usually. I bought these for my son who has Polkaroo feet at a size 13 and WIDE. It was impossible to find a pair in town that size so I ordered these as size 14 and crossed my fingers. It worked as he can wear a nice pair of socks with them and they do not crowd his wide feet. They are very nice looking and work a charm for dance. Thanks!

Good for social dancing
I bought this for my Latin dance courses. Same size as street shoes. Was a bit tight at first, but the leather is very soft, and it became comfortable very quickly. Looks good, feels good.

Wrong size
Product was way to small and I had ordered the same size as the last pair I had. Tried to reorder a different size but site would not let me complete. Seemed to freeze up when I input size, this has happened on other sites as well. Says must input size to complete, even after having done it.

Great shoes, they do fit small though
Great shoes. Perfect for dancing. I also use them to play the pipe organ and they work great. They do fit small. I'm usually a 9, should have ordered a 9.5. But very happy overall.
