Genuine Nissan Parts - Authentic Catalog Part from The Factory (999L1-VZ001)

I was a bit nervous about the installation since the description did not indicate properly that it would work in my Altima. I reached out to vendor 2 times with no response, which was disappointing. The instructions were OEM and intended for someone with experience with this type of installation. After a few You Tube videos from other sources I was able to install without much difficulty. All parts were included except accessory wiring harness which was already on my 2015 Rouge SL. The instructions for installing and programming home link buttons had to be downloaded, but the necessary web sites were provided in the kit. The most difficult part for me was removing the pillar cover by the wind shield. My panel removal tools were not strong enough to pull the tabs off the pillar. I had to use pliers to get them out after having clipped the tabs which was not easy to do. The instructions from Nissan are not real detailed in this area. Making the electrical connections was not straight forward either. The color of the wires on the accessory was different from the instruction sheet, but after testing the harness the positions of the wires were correct. The posi-lock wire connectors worked perfectly. They were much easier than soldering. My overhead door opener did not have instructions on the home link web site, but a phone number was listed. Customer service was able to walk me through the generic set up and it worked fine. The entire process took me 4 hours to complete, but now I could do another one in about an hour and a half if I needed to. The kit looks professional and I am very pleased with the end result.

Despite some of the answers to compatibility questions, this does work in a 2018 Altima SR. We originally asked for the dealer to upgrade the mirror to Homelink. They agreed, but installed a mirror from a different manufacturer (one that produces garage door openers and transmitters). The mirror (model ARQ) was a glorified transmitter that would not "learn" your existing codes but required you to teach the garage drive unit. While this might work for most drive units, it did not work with ours. The Homelink can learn your existing codes from your own transmitters, making set-up very easy. Something to note: it is possible that the Homelink transmitter cannot learn from some transmitters (rolling codes), requiring the teaching mode on the drive unit. But this Homelink miire appears more flexible than the ARQ.

It was very easy to install.

I could not find anyone to help me install the electrical connections. It is just serving as more expensive regular rear view mirror in my Altima

Installed in my daughter's 2014 Nissan Sentra. No one could tell the mirror was not there from the start.

The home link buttons do not light up at night.
