Great for certain hair types, my Mom loves it.
I bought this as a Christmas present for my mom and she loves it. She has shoulder length, straight and thin hair. It dries her hair perfectly and quickly and keeps it soft and helps with frizz. I have 2b hair, thick and somewhere between curly and wavy hair. It took less time to dry my hair than a normal hair dryer but only by maybe 20 minutes. It dried the top layer of my hair quickly but didn't reach the under layers of my hair, I would have had to flipped my head over and that's a no-no for frizz. I should also mention that just because it's a dryer don't forget the proper method of brushing thick curly hair, start at the bottom and work your way up. I got carried away and started at the top and it almost instantly got stuck in my hair and began to rip out some of my hair in addition to snapping and splitting some hairs. That was probably on me though so if you don't do this it should be fine. Also, with thick curly hair take your time gliding the brush through. It works way better that way and doesn't get caught in you hair as much. Speed brushing, even after getting it brushed and tangle free, causes the dense bristles to get stuck in your hair. Because my hair is curly and I have a lot of baby hair on the top of my head my hair still frizzed I didn't use any friz control products either. Honestly though it works great for my mom I would not use it for myself. When I finished using it my hair was mostly straight but not in a fashionable way. It looked like someone did a bad job flat-ironing it, and for some reason I couldn't run my fingers through my hair without my hair getting tangled afterwards. Also be warned, the gold part get HOT so don't let it touch your ears and keep your hair away from the tip of the brush as hair always get stuck in it. I know this seems like a harsh review but I think it's a good product that works well for people with a certain hair types, namely straight or thin hair. If you have hair like mine you could probably get it to work well for you if you practiced with it and put in some extra effort, like anti-friz products and flat ironing afterwards, I just don't want to put so much extra effort into drying my hair. It is a good product, especially after I read a bunch of reviews comparing it to other similar products and found this one to be the best. Plus it has a good warranty and I found a lot of others didn't (or had a short warranty period) and broke shortly (only a fur uses or moths) after the initial use. If you want a hairbrush dryer I would recommend choosing this one over others.

THIS is EVERYTHING!!!!
WHY did it take so long for this product to make it's way to my doorstep!?!? I have made many futile attempts at styling my very medium at times to very long hair with a blow dryer and round brush, but it is impossible. First of all, it takes my hair SO long to dry even with my super high powered blow dryer (speed freak or something along those name lines) then trying to incorporate a round brush, whether small or large... frustrating as all heck and I eventually just either lower my head and blow dry from the bottom while using a flat brush and leave the house with frizzy not entirely dry hair, which later just becomes a curly mess if frizz as the day goes on. I tried the Revlon dryer brush because I had heard race reviews on it, but that didn't get me anything better than what I was already getting with my regular dryer and flat or round brush, so that was returned. I saw this one in Ulta and couldn't bring myself to buying it at $80 for fear that I'd end up in the same situation. I love HotTools products and that's what my hairstylist uses to make my hair perfect and beautiful so I really wanted it but I had trouble rationalizing paying so much for it until I saw the price on Amazon! At that price and I had a $10 gift card, made it a "no-brainer" and I purchased it. I eagerly awaited it's arrival and OMG, this thing is incredible!!!! Now my hair takes SO MUCH LESS TIME TO DRY AND it's NOT frizzy, it looks just like when my stylist blows it out!!! Also, I have MS- Multiple Sclerosis, so my dexterity is awful. I was worried that this would be too large for my hands to successfully manipulate and I'd end up all tangled up with my hair a tangled mess, but it's actually the perfect size for me to handle and get through my hair smoothly and easily. Believe me, if I CAN DO it, YOU can do it. Don't hesitate, just get this, you will not be sorry. Lastly, the HIGH setting WILL get your hair extremely dry and done pretty quickly so be ready for that. I even used the low setting more than the high setting and my hair dried surprisingly fast!!! Love LOVE LOVE this product!!!!

Great hair dryer, great tool
I received the hair dryer brush in good condition. This was my first time purchasing this type of hair dryer. Since childhood, I've used a blow dryer with combs and brush attachments. I have long curly hair in the 3b-3c range. After I wash my hair, I always towel-dry and add my hair oils before drying. I divided my hair into four sections, and this hair dryer brush dried my hair in about 10 minutes. I was shocked. Plus, my hair looked like I had it dried in the salon. That's a first for doing my hair at home. My hair looked and felt great. WOW! What a great tool. So glad I bought it. My only issue is that it's not dual voltage. I like to travel and have always had dual-voltage hair tools. Other than that, I'm happy that I bought the blow dryer brush, and I recommend it.

Game changer for someone who HATES styling hair
First, let me start off with saying I have always HATED styling my hair. I’m not good at it and it takes WAY too long to do. I’ll spend 45 minutes on makeup (love doing my makeup), but then I get to hair and usually throw my wet mop into a tight ponytail. That “look” not only ends up looking unpolished, but I pull my ponytail so tight that I always breaking hairs just from the tugging several times a day. My hair is medium-long (about 3-5” past my shoulders), fine but fluffy/frizzy, and I have a lot of it. It takes me about 20-25 minutes to dry it with a normal blow drier. When I’m done with drying, it’s normally so frizzy and crazy that I MUST flat iron, or else it looks like I just woke up. Flat ironing would take me another 20 min or so, so we’re looking at 45 min total to do my hair. Nope. I don’t have the time or patience for all that, unless I’m going out at night. And then I discovered this Hot Tools miracle. I’ve only been using this a little less than a week, but it’s changed my hair life and I am telling all my girlfriends. It’s reduced my time from 45 minutes to 10. TEN!! Not only that, I don’t have to flat iron my hair, which saves time and heat exposure to my fine hair. The end result is SO smooth. In fact, I would recommend going light on any additional smoothing serums/lotions until you can anticipate your hair’s needs with this product. I’ve used it bit too much (even just concentrating on the ends) a few times, and my hair almost seems oily. I think this product helps the product penetrate your hair more, or it simply seals the hair shaft so that you don’t need as much. Regardless, in 10 minutes I have a voluminous, healthy, beautiful head of hair that matches the effort/time I put into my makeup, without actually taking long at all. This product is so (superficially) life changing that I’ve begun looking at better hair care products so that I can help grow all the broken hairline hairs into a gorgeous full set of healthy locks. I’m probably going to buy another of these for my gym bag so that I don’t have to worry about ever forgetting it. Okay, more about the device itself: - heat: when I first start using it, it’s reasonably hot, but it’s not excessive. I’ve noticed about halfway through if gets SUPER hot and I have to be careful how/where I position my hands. But .... it’s manageable and I never feel like my hair is burning. - on/off switch: the absolute only thing I struggle with is turning the device on/off/cool blast without feeling awkward. The switch is in a location where you can’t really one-hand it. For me, I must stop what I’m doing, turn the device and locate the switches, and move the switch. This means any section of hair I’m working on must be maneuvered/pinned back first, while I’m changing the setting on the dryer. Some of this is probably just practice / muscle memory, but it’s worth mentioning that this is the only mechanical design issue I have with the device. Also, I’m left handed - I don’t think that has anything to do with my issue, but I tend to do things a little backwards as a right-brained person. - pulling on hair: no tearing!! I’ve put some tension on this thing, and worked the hair at weird angles with awkward sectioning, and haven’t experienced any discernible damage or breakage. Awesome!! - size: Thing thing takes up space! Two design elements would be great with this thing: 1) retractable cord, and 2) hook on the end so that I can hang this in my bathroom. Because this is a brush as well as a dryer, I don’t want to just throw it around and risk damaging the bristles, so I currently put it in another room instead of in my bathroom drawer. Okay, that’s my review. Hopefully it helps someone make their decision!

Easy Blow Dry Tool
I bought this because I was in need of a new blow dry tool brush. I have used multiple different brands before from Walmart purchased to high end and feel like they all work similar to be honest - I feel like it’s more in the technique and products used! I have long hair and find this easy to use (I can’t speak on use for short hair). I would purchase again :) FYI I do use it on my hair that’s been rough dried about 95% - so I’m using this more as a finishing tool!

Honest Review of the Blow Dryer/Brush
I fell in love with this dryer the first time I used it. My hair dried quickly, looked silky and had incredible volume. The dryer is very lightweight and easy to handle. I typically wash my hair once a week, but I used this dryer a few times between washes just for styling. Unfortunately, after approximately 9 months of use, the bristles began to fall out frequently. Now, at just under 11 months, less than half of the bristles remain. Another concern was just after a few months I noticed the barrel starting to smoke when using it on wet hair. Even though my hair never looked burned or frizzy, the smoking was strong enough to set off the fire alarm. I'm not sure if I received a faulty unit or if this is somehting that happens over time with this model, but it was disappointing given how much I loved it at first.

Impressed, Changed from a Different Brand
Purchased this Hot Tools Dryer Brush to replace my years-old Revlon. I have fine-strand, medium thickness hair in a shortish bob-style. The brush is not too big to style the amount of hair that I have; the barrel is actually a bit smaller, width-wise, than my Revlon. I’ve used it on both wet and dry hair and am pleased with both results. Admittedly, the first couple of times I used the brush, the plastic bristles pulled my hair badly; however, after subsequent use, I no longer have this issue (maybe because the oils in my hair have lubricated the plastic?). As a comparison, it runs more quietly than my Revlon, and I have less frizz using the same hair products that I used with the Revlon. It also seems to dry my hair faster. I haven’t had an issue with the brush getting too hot, as other reviewers have mentioned, but I tend to run it mostly on the low heat setting. I know I’m comparing a new brush to an old one, but the Hot Tools brush seems more efficient and more quiet than my Revlon did when it was new. I purchased this brush on sale, which makes me like it even more! lol. Overall, a great brush and a nice upgrade from my old dependable Revlon.
