NewYall AC A/C Compressor Flow Sensor for Toyota Sienna 2011-2016

Installing was difficult because of location and hand room but was just like the Toyota sensor. Toyota does not sale the part but replace compressor is their recommendation at $2000+

This AC flow sensor worked on a 2015 Sienna LE FWD 8 (3.5 L V6 EFI DOHC 24V) Hope this long review/ info saves someone money…. AC not working. Local garage refilled freon (‘recharging the AC system’), but still no AC. After two rechecks, local garage suggested Dealer take a look, thinking it might be the AC amplifier (‘relearn’/flash or replace). This was bc the compressor did engage & was able to command the system (van blew cold under the hood, but not in the cabin). Dealer determined it to be the AC flow sensor, but they only sell it *together with the compressor for later models. Dealer bill to replace A/C compressor w/flow sensor & A/C receiver dryer (now that system is opened) was $3,251. Local garage put this part in (w/no guarantees) for $280. (Already paid $170 for freon & $195 Dealer diagnostic fee) …..Replace just the AC flow sensor & spend $300, not $3000 Notes: -The V6 engine is typically more of a pain than the V4, due to restricted space -Some people bypass replacing the old part by wiring a new sensor into the harness & securing it directly (?w/a zip tie to AC line) against the compressor -Don’t have to drain the system, just a sensor on top of the compressor -the Dorman 926-818 does *not work on the *2015* Sienna – only 2011 - 2013, so use this part called NewYall AC Compressor Flow Sensor for Toyota Sienna 2011-2016, X0027X50T5 Extra notes: -AC blows warm air b/c ….the control computer/ amplifier won’t engage the magnetic clutch (on the AC compressor) b/c it sees a “faulty signal” from the compressor flow sensor -Non-working sensor often happens b/c the magnetism wears out due to heat, which in turn affects the required voltage -Some attach a magnet override, then after 3 months to a year, remove the magnet and the fix still works -Some test the system by engaging the magnetic switch with a magnet while the engine is running (typically use Harbor Freight’s Pittsburgh 29-1/2 in Telescoping Magnetic Pickup Tool 15 lb Capacity), many online videos

works great could not fully remove the old sensor from the compressor due to corrosion so I installed this with a strong magnet zip tied and taped to the sensor and it fixed the problem so now AC works great again.

Inexpensive fix for an AC that wasn't working on my RAV4. Disconnect the wire connector to the defective unit, connect the new one, then zip-tie the new one to the fluid line going into the compressor. Worked a treat. Saved me a couple of hundred for a new compressor and service.

It arrived looking used, burnt and covered in glue.

Fixed my AC issue on 2011 highlander. Be patient removing the old it’ll come out eventually.

It's not easy to remove the old sensor to install the new sensor. Return the new one. Put new magnet on the sensor and the AC works again.

Toyota does not sell a replacement AC Flow Sensor. My local garage quoted CAD$1,600 plus labour for a new compressor since they couldn't get the part from Toyota, and the dealership quoted $1,700. After searching various forums I found this part. Spending $50 saved me well over $2,000 once you include labour and taxes. This fixed the issue. We'll see how long the part lasts. Even if I had to buy one each year, it will still work out waaaay cheaper.
