The perfect purple
As other reviewers have demonstrated, this ink is a beautiful, deep purple that is an excellent value. I have purchased other “purple” inks, but those have been more pink than purple. The ink is rich and dark (not transparent), and it performs well with minimal feathering (slightly more the my J. Herbin black, which is minimal) or running and causing too-thick lines. Water resistance is fair to poor, but I didn’t purchase it for that.

Deep Purple
It is a plum colored purple that doesn't have a lot of gloss to it. I have taken some to a vial and added four drops of Waterman black and made my own dark lilac color.

Handmade in USA
Beautiful quality, fantastic flow, and great color. I can't really ask more from an ink. The amount of ink they get in the 3oz. bottle is really something to behold. I appreciate that there are still companies out there doing this kind of thing by hand. Keep up the good work. I didn't really expect this to be water fast, and honestly, I don't know why it needs to be. How often is paper really being spilled all over? Wouldn't we have bigger problems??? Overall, great ink. 5/5.

Purple Is as Purple Does...
I love Noodler's ink and have several - Sequoia, Heart of Darkness, Dragon's Napalm Red, and Bay State Blue. I ordered this purple because I was on a trip for several days and out of ink in my Parker Inflection Radiant Yellow medium-nib pen (purchased here on Amazon!). The pen is more gold than yellow, the ink is a perfectly royal, straightforward purple, and I now have my LSU Geaux Tigers pen combination I wanted. The flow is very smooth and seems to work better in this particular pen even than my beloved Sequoia green. My only regret was it not having a Noodler's interesting name, but when I saw how purely perfect purple penned powerful pages, I saw why: it really is purple. :)

Excellent for writing, not for washes
Wonderful fountain pen ink, like all Noodler's inks. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be water resistant. I didn't check before buying, so that's all on me. I loaded it in a fresh TWSBI Mini-Vac and it flows beautifully. The color is a lovely dark purple, which bums me out more because it's the exact shade I was wanting to use for my line work under watercolor washes while urban sketching. But, if you're just wanting to write with this, it's perfect and I'd definitely recommend it.

A relatively conservative purple
I've looked for a nice, conservative purple to enjoy in my adult years and found it. Knowing the general fear of ink that is neither blue nor black, I wanted to find a purple I could enjoy without ruffling the feathers of those who care about such things.I have discovered that Noodler's ink is very nice and the colors aren't muddy. I'm impressed with the quality and quantity of ink for the price paid. The price breakdown for pen+ink vs. roller ball pens is another good incentive for switching to fountain pens. The color is quite pretty and the ink dries quickly and true to the color. I haven't seen any feathering nor any serious bleed through, but it may be due to the paper I use...24lb parchment.

Great purple
The color is fantastic and I love the narrow bottles so I can put my nibs into the ink even when the bottle is only 1/4 full.

Nice ink, Water resistance, color not as bright as I was expecting
Nice ink, Water resistance, color not as bright as I was expecting. I was hoping for a brighter purple this was much more muted. Still great ink.

Lamest ink I have ever used.
This ink is pure lame. The color is generic, the ink bleeds and feathers pretty badly compared to other ink. Diamine and J. Herbin have much superior quality inks. Get for them instead.
