This water pump is good only if you have an unrestricted pipe and tap(!) all through the system.As soon as you have an increased resistance it fails miserably:a not fully opened tap with an aerator or a water preserving tap. Result is a fast pulsing 'ra-ta-ta-ta-ta'.An increased resistance for instance by a water filter cartridge. Then it shakes the walls like a jackhammer!And that is not even mounted to the RV structure. Just placed outside on a wood block and connected only via two 12mm John Guest flexible water pipes.You could add an accumulator tank to make it usable.But then you wouldn't buy an expensive Variable speed pump anyway.Any Stop/Go pump would be enough.If I can't come up with a solution this will be my first returned Amazon ware.5 stars to the Amazon Return Service! All went smooth.

I installed this pump less than a year ago, and it has died. The pump started to run constantly, and get hot. I contacted Johnson in September, and they agreed to replace the pump.Updated 2022, the replacement pump took three months to arrive. Buyer caution advised.

I was a little hesitant to purchase this pump because of few online reviews but went ahead because it looked to be almost identical to the Aqua-Jet pump I was replacing and was competitively priced. It does run at lower pressure (30psi) compared to my original (85psi) however it seems more than adequate and because of the increased gallons per minute flow rate (5.0 vs 3.5) the pressure difference is unnoticeable. The pump runs flawlessly and is quieter than my original. I added the Shurflo accumulator tank to address a hot water expansion leak but it does not appear to affect the pump in any way. If anything I would say the performance improved because the accumulator allows the pump to come up to speed and produces a smoother flow.

Bought this pump as spare part in case of emergency replacement on my boat. Stored it in a/c controlled environment and in its unopened, sealed box until needed. 18 months later, installed but found it is useless.Runs slow. Variable speed with pressure shutoff runs endlessly, past its 30 psi shutoff. Does not stop running, even at 50psi. It is defective or incorrectly marked and boxed as 12 V and may be 24 V model.

Installed this variable speed pump on my boat to replace a fixed speed unit. This pump works much smoother. I'm pleased with it.

Pump continually cycled and the pressure fluctuated, was a royal pain in the neck. Bought another pump locally (exactly the same) and it works fine. I guess they really don't deserve a one star rating because the pump should have worked. But honestly it was a one star experience.I'm also still waiting for my refund...... If I get it in the near future my rating may go up to two stars.
