Excellent for confined spaces. Contrary to other reviews, I have had no issues with the sensors, regardless of the weld process. As a journeyman pipe welder, this "hood" is indispensable. Perfect for confined spaces, light weight, sensors work extremely well. All hoods will fog that close to your face, this one is no different. You can adapt either a cheater or prescription glasses to it, sensitivity function works very well. Works well on carbon, SS, AL and others. I suspect others having issues with the sensors/ fogging may be experiencing operator malfunction. This was a replacement for my first one which was stolen.

I am a welding student/beginner and had my very first TIG welding class today using this product. A novice though still a techie, with little to no knowledge in welding, I was able to get these out the box and start welding a few hours later. This is my first welding helmet so I cannot compare it to a traditional one; I can only speak on this product by itself. I bought this for its versatility, comfort and viewing capabilities. 1. Versatility. It can easily fit in a backpack and be used for multiple applications from grinding to plasma cutting. Rather than carrying around a helmet, goggles, head and neck protection separately, this bundles them all into one. Wanna do an overhead stick weld? Just buy a $15 plastic face shield to protect this product and you're good to go. Need to wear a hardhat, just put it on. The way this product can be safely augmented is only limited by the imagination of the customer. 2. Comfort. Remember, I've never used a traditional welding helmet before, only this. I was easily able to continuously weld during a 4 hour lab. The hood was not very hot. I had zero neck strain and was able to view my work better and position myself more easily which increased overall efficiency. Simply put, you can turn your neck in any direction whereas just looking left or right with a regular welding helmet is difficult. 3. Viewing capabilities. Just from the design alone, the welder can see far more with these goggles. With a welding helmet, it's like looking at your work on a black and white smart phone an inch front of your face. With these goggles, I can distinctly see different colors very easily and because the screens are so close to your eyes, the user can see more because the viewing angle is wider. Not peripheral vision but you can definitely see more of your work space. Fog... if you are a mouth breather, the lenses will fog. A way to mitigate that is to get a flame & UV resistant hood that covers the face just use the goggles by themselves. If there is going to be lots of sparks and spatter, add the face shield. The only bad thing is what they give you to store this expensive item: a flimsy blue tote bag!!! Miller Electric needs to provide some sort of hard case for this so it can safely be put in a bag. Other than that, product performed beyond my expectations. Overall I highly recommend this product. I will probably never buy a traditional welding helmet now that I started with one of these.

Great product, comes very handy in the shipyard. I'm a slim guy anyway so they always stick me in the hardest to reach spot and this is a must have for me. If you think a sock hood would do the same then you would be very surprised. This is like wearing nothing. I read lots of reviews that complain about fogging, my advice, wear it over your safety glasses. Might not be as comfortable, but it'll leave room for some air movement. I seldom have ant fogging issues and I work in +90% humidity in the Florida heat... in a fuel tank on the bottom of a ship.

Fits good high visibility and mobility You will get some flash in your forehead so wear a welding cap or just use sunscreen under the hood

Disliked Nothing, I sometimes have to replace slide rails under semi trailers, has to be welded on the top of rail, Very tight space to see, almost impossible with a standard helmet. These goggles was Perfect for the job..

Purchased this for my nephew that welds at a muffler shop. He says its a great product and really helps him while welding in small tight spaces. He wears glasses and can easily keep them on while wearing the mask

Product arrived well package instructions are clear and easy to read. The shield it's self is very nice good response and as far as wearabily very comfortable. Now the not so great things... peripheral vision is very limited it isn't easy to find something you laid down, I use a magnifying piece which although is the correct one doesn't stay in the shield if you lay it upside down. Now the worst thing...it dogs up so bad it is almost useless I have to keep an air flow going to be able to use it if you are in a position where you your chin is tucked down. I am going to get rid of it I just received the upgraded model from the parent company and it seams to be all it is advertised to be more to come on it later

The lenses fog up when in tight courters

Been using mine for months and it just works. No complain about it
