Smith and Wesson Six Guns of the Old West

I am collecting end of 19th century American handguns and ordered this book having just bought a S&W new model N°3. I have also an American model and a Russian third model by Ludwig Loewe. For me undoubtedly it is the ultimate book on the subject, every angle is covered in depth by the author. I have never seen the equivalent for Colt or Remington.

I'm a collector of S & W handguns. This book gives a deep sight into the materia, especially the model no. 3 revolvers. A lot of informations and details are packed into that book. It is well bound and printed on glossy paper, which is not always the case with US books. I can only recommend it to any person interested in S & W.

I recommend this book to anyone that has an interest in early model S&W pistols. Almost every detail I can think of is covered in this book from differences in models, parts illustrations and different options available on each model. Plus a great background history on them and lots of pictures.

Everything I've been looking for, all the originals and all the repros, described and compared. What's right and what's wrong and how to fix it, care for it and even how to make some of the parts! I have originals and repros, I shoot them and tune them as needed, and this book fills the bill. One of the most valuable books I own.

A very,very thorough analysis of the Sixguns with clear parts schematics. Excellent
