Perfectly Preppy.
I have two styles. I either look like I'm going backpacking or as if I'm going for a modern day Nancy Drew. (Betty Cooper? ,Yeah that's it). These are perfect for the latter. I love these. I bought the black and then received the brown as a Christmas gift. I originally purchased them to go with a vintage tea dress and was surprised how comfortable they were. I've worn both pairs to work (9 hours on concrete floors with thin carpet walking and standing for at least 4 hours total) and my feet felt fine after. I do think the size is a little strange though. I normally wear an 8 and I usually buy half size up in heels in case my feet swell so since they only have whole sizes I bought the black in a 9 and those had more than enough room, especially since my feet didn't really swell so my mom gave me a 8 but they appear to be the same size, both say "40" on the bottom. Also they are a little slippery. I was in Target and I was sliding all over the shinny floors. The heel of the shoe is what I was sliding on the most. Maybe invest in some kind of non slip sole sticker if you are going to be spending a lot of time on slippery floors. But even then I can't say enough about how great these shoes are. I will probably be purchasing another pair or two for myself and probably sending a pair to my sister as well. Buy these now and thank me later.

They SMELL!
The smell is noxious! I could smell them before I opened the Amazon box that the shoe box was in. I tried one shoe on for about 60 seconds but then the off-gassing gave me an asthma attack. The shoes are now current "breathing" in my garage. My sliding glass door is wide open and the headache inducing odor is lingering in my living room. I wouldn't be surprised if they were constructed with carcinogenic materials. Out of the box they are already dinged and scuffed and seemingly stained by glue that has been poorly wiped off. Quality-wise, pretty shoddy! I'm an 8 in shoes and these are slightly too small, but I think an 8.5 would be too big. Also, the mouth of the shoes are a bit high and rub right under the ankle bone... I think my motto from now on will be "don't buy shoes from Amazon".

Super cute!
First off, I want to say that I WILL edit this review when I have actually given these some quality wear-time! For now, however, I'm going to give a superficial first-impression sorta' review.Right off the bat, these are friggin' adorable. The patented glossy-plastic look wasn't my favorite (I had originally wanted the matte white shoes; of course they didn't have them in my size), but... well, the more I look at these, the more they grow on me. I'm starting to really like the shine! They seem well made, though they're incredibly stiff and I have the feeling that they'll be uncomfortable until I've broken them in. That's not a problem for me. I generally have to break in shoes before they're comfy. The heels are thick, sturdy, and SUPER easy to walk in! I don't wear heels often - or at all, really, unless you count the one pair of wedge sandals I keep in my closet - so I was afraid that I'd take one step in these and break both ankles. Obviously I didn't. These aren't stilettos, that's for sure! If you're looking for something with a big smokin' sexy heel that'll really play up your legs and ass, these are not for you. However, if you want something cute and easy for beginners or the vertically-challeneged, these are perfect. My only complaint would be that they have absolutely /no/ traction whatsoever. They slip and slide on my carpet. They slip and slide on my tiled kitchen floor. They slip and slide on the cement outside. I'm sure there are ways to fix this, but I haven't, mostly because I don't mind too much. It just makes me more aware of where I'm putting my feet and how I'm spreading my weight when I walk. If I'm sure-footed, I don't slide. As far as sizing goes, these run large. I'm a 7.5 to an 8 depending on the brand of shoe I'm wearing, and have big ol' wide/flat duck feet. I read a bunch of reviews and decided to order a 7 rather than an 8 -- and I don't regret it at all! The 7 fits just right. The shoes aren't too narrow for my feet, and I've got room for my toes; they aren't squished at all. Overall, based on first impressions, I'd recommend these to anyone who wants boots in this style! We'll see if they stand up to a day of wear, though.

I love these shoes
Ah, the eternal problem for women - fashion over function - has struck again. I love these shoes, they are stylish, well made with a nice high heel. They can be worn by the vertically challenged petite ladies with over-long boot cut jeans; would look great with a mini or long BoHo style dress while being great at work - if you are used to spending the day in high heels. Now for the bummer part. I have finally come to accept that I have a wide foot and these shoes only come in a B width so the ball of my foot tends to spill over and stretch the leather and will wear a hole in it no time. Surprisingly, the shoe feels a little big - a little long with wiggle room at the ankle. I could actually slip my foot in while still tied.I may try to use an insert to address the size issue and perhaps that will also work on the width - because fashion is once again winning over function because these shoes are just to darn cute to part with. I will be on the search for a 7 Wide in the meantime.
