I had lot many cds dvds. This works as best player attached to my laptop. Very convenient, portable, Hassel free working.

Initially I was delivered a faulty piece. It just kept ejecting even if I refreshed the desktop. Applied for a replacement. Replaced one is functional. Works with window 10 Home.

It does not operate by itself on Windows 10. Required other software to be installed for it to operate. Working is not smooth.

I wanted a spare disk drive to make changing between programs that require a disk to operate easier. This drive plugs in to a spare usb port and loads up ready to use quickly. It is a little heavier than I wanted but does seem solidly made. The disk tray is the lap top type. Works fine with my old windows XP and windows 7 O.S. machines and Linux O.S..

Always had an internal optical drive, but with the new laptops many don't have one. I purchased a new laptop and bought this external DVD player/recorder. Right out of the box I plugged it in and it worked with no other set up. I actually like the external better than the internal now!

I bought this with the purpose of burning my CD collection to my computer. I've ran over 300 CDs though it over the course of a week and have had zero problems. It's very simple to use. Simply plug it into your USB port and insert a CD. The only thing I wish were differ is that instead of a slide out drawer, it had a slot. That's just personal preference though and doesn't have an affect on my opinion of how well this product works.

Dead on arrival, currently in the process of sending it back. Would give it zero stars if I could.

So easy to use, compact and fast. Great price too.
