I can’t believe it’s come to this I’m excited enough about this utility knife that I decided to write a review about it… This OLFA L-5 X-Design snap blade is great, worth the extra price compared to it’s many cheaper counterparts. The size and shape feels great in hand, the fiberglass body feels durable, honestly, I was a little worried about it feeling cheap, but it feels premium. The lock wheel mechanism actually holds the blade where you put it instead of slowly creeping out like cheaper knives, and I’ve really put it through its paces cutting through foam and thick cardboard! I like ease of locking the blade, the intentional design, specifically the clicks it makes are a good reminder that you’re actually locking it! The factory provided blades are sharp and snap cleanly, don’t my intention is to use a stock pile of non-olfa blades with this…until I run out (i’ll update this review if I have any compatibility issues with third-party blades). I haven’t used the pry tool a ton yet, but I can already tell it’s going to come in handy for the “ i’m too lazy to get an actual pry / suitable tool moments” Only real negative: Sometimes when I grab the pry tool end without looking, my brain panics and thinks I’m about to grab the exposed blade on the other side. I’ve had a few mini heart attacks. No actual injuries yet, just a moment of “welp, this is how it ends.” I didn’t expect to form an emotional attachment to a utility knife, but OLFA has me rethinking my life choices. I’ve even attached a lanyard through the eye hole, so no one will steal it from me… and so it’s never too far from me!! Highly recommend.

I love Olfa knives. This is very well designed and cuts effortlessly. Much better than a traditional utility knife. Don't try to twist or pry, you'll snap off the blade. Great for slicing through thick foam insulation boards.

This "box cutter" type tool uses the excellent OLFA system. There is a protrusion at the rear end for cutting box tape, but it is a bit too broad and not very useful, so minus one star.

A strong, quality utility knife at a reasonable price. Highly recommended...John

Preso per la marca conosciuta a livello professionale (è quella che usiamo in ditta). OLFA è made in Japan, paese che, come per le automobili ed i prodotti elettronici, è un riferimento nella durata e affidabilità. Il suo taglio è preciso e la sicurezza garantita dalla retrattilità - manuale - della lama. Sempre meglio cmq usare un buon paio di guanti pesanti e resistenti. Soddisfatto.

Le sirve mucho a mi esposa, lo usa para abrir cajas de cartón.
