Great tool and even better price!
With an overall cost of just $94.00, (including a $25.00 DeWalt discount), I couldn't go wrong. This is one powerful machine and does what is expected. I was going to get the 18V DC385 cordless model to replace a Craftsman, but couldn't pass up the price. I am very happy with the quality reliability, and feel of DeWalt tools.

Works great.
I've needed a saw saw for awhile for those jobs in close quarters with no room for a regular saw or hacksaw. Choose the DeWalt heavy duty corded version because I have other DeWalt tools and reviews were good. I was leery of battery powered big tools because too may reviewers complained about cordless tool batteries giving out in the midddle of a job. If you have power on site, recommed you stay with reliable corded tools. It made short work of cutting a dryer vent tube inside a wall. Easy to control and not too heavy. One issue - the adjustable shoe lock loosened from vibration and the shoe fell off, but I kept on without it. I also bought the DeWalt 6 blade kit. I received the saw three days after order and the blades in five days.

Total Fun
I had this large long piece of pine, 5 x3, that I had to cut into a mighty odd shape. The wood was too big to fit on my wee Shopsmith bandsaw, the cuts too heavy and extensive to go through the trouble of breaking all the blades required to do it by hand, so I bought this, with a set of the 12" blades. It was hard going at first, 'till I noticed I was also cutting through the handle of the vise. The blade never broke, did a beautiful job, like a handheld bandsaw. It was powerful and easy to control. Extremely adaptable, powerful and tough. Which is a good idea, since I now need to repeat the job with ash. I'm looking forward to it.

Really? No blade??
In general, this saw works well. I was a bit inconvenienced when I opened the case to find NO blades were included, and had to drive into town just to buy that one item. Also, the case and saw were a bit scuffed up, and a small sliver of wood or blade of grass was inside the case also. This indicated to me that it was NOT new as I expected it to be. Now that the kinks are worked out, I'm happy with the saw. I'm not sure I will buy anything like that from the internet again, though.

For me this corded is a better option than cordless battery
I am a weekend warrior homeowner. I am doing some work around the house that requires a little demo, but not a whole lot. So a reasonably priced corded saw is a better bet than a more expensive cordless. If I was doing a lot of demo I'd imagine the cord would be a PITA, but given I use it only occasionally I don't mind having to pull out an extension to get this working. It is easier than having to keep a battery charged all the time. The blades can be changed relatively easily. The speed control varies quite nicely. It feels sturdy. For my needs I think this is great product that does the job without having to spend quite a bit more money.

This saw seems built like a real workhorse
This saw seems built like a real workhorse, it looks and feels like a powerful, capable saw, the kind contractors would use. I used it twice for small jobs in the 3 years I've had it. Then I needed it the other days for a few minutes, but I couldnt get the blade into the shoe. Tried everything I could think of, read the instructions, watched youtube, and still couldnt get the blade to clamp in. There isnt much to it, just a locking lever and that's about it. Finally called the company, they had nothing to suggest besides a local service center to evaluate the problem. No idea what that would cost, and I've already lost 3 hours of frustration and disappointment for a job that would have taken 5 minutes....................................a real bummer.

DEWALT DW310K 12 Amp Heavy-Duty Reciprocating Saw Kit
I purchased this item as this years Christmas gift for my son-in-law. I've owned this exact saw for over four trouble free years when I started an extensive shrub, flower garden, and patio project using 4x4 timbers for the frame that I had to cut to appropriate sizes. I also use it to prune heavier branches on trees in the yard. One of my neighbors had a huge tree blow down in the wind. This saw made short work of it and I used the logs to burn in my chiminea. I just can't emphasis how useful this tool can be. I bought my son-in-law a skill saw last year and a dremel before that, all from Amazon since I find I get the best or at least a compareable price, free shipping, no tax and no hassles. And I like that. 'Nuf said.
