Evco International Creative Home R Marble Trivet, Green

I got this because it's bigger than a cast iron trivet, and can have different uses.The color is darker than shown, and the lightest marbled streaks on mine are slightly tinted yellow.There was a slight chemical odor upon arrival which was eventually cleaned.

Nice looking, nice size, functional, sturdy, easy to clean.

I bought two of these and they both have a chemical smell. When they get wet, the smell gets worse. Also, the edges show sanding marks and the bottom doesn't look like marble at all...it's just gray rough stone. There are also pits in the top. I've bought marble before and never had it look like this. It makes it almost seem like a laminate over a cheap gray stone. I don't want to knock the company's merchandise, but I'm only reviewing what I see. Including photos with my review.

The stone did not sit flat, one of the three legs was shorter and hence I had to place a paper towel underneath it to stop wobbling when I am flattening the dough on it. Kind of annoying, but I use it with a tissue.The stone itself is good quality.

Overall, I like this trivet. I actually bought it not to use as a trivet for hot items (though I do occasionally use it for that too,) but to roll Indian chappati dough onto it, as it's right about the same size as you can get these in India. My only issue is that the small plastic things on the bottom to stand it above the counter are too small, and it's unstable and rocks back and forth. Because of this when I do use it as a trivet, I'm also careful when placing pots or other items onto it due to its instability.

This is a nice round marble slice. I really like the green. It was part of a wedding present. They really liked the natural stone.

I love this thing! It is pretty and heavy and smooth and a lovely deep green. Perfect for my husband's new towel steamer!
