Yes, one layer did the trick when I tried. I guess you'd have to test it out to see if it gives you the darkness level that you're looking for specifically. In my experience, the seller cares about satisfaction guaranteed, so worst-case scenario, if you're not happy with the product, you can always return it. However, I do think it's worth a try.
