🚗 Light Up Safety: Make Every Stop Count!
The Back Off Brake Light Signal Module is a compact electronic device that enhances your vehicle's brake lights by converting them into a flashing alert system. It operates on 12V DC with a maximum capacity of 10A, featuring a sealed weather-resistant heat sink case for durability. The module flashes three times before staying on for 3.5 seconds, repeating this cycle as long as the brakes are applied, significantly improving visibility and safety on the road.

Does what it's supposed to do. Easy to install. Feels like it's high quality
I chose to spend a little extra money and get this name brand module instead of one of the off-brand $9 ones that are also for sale on Amazon- don't really feel like having to mess with my brake lights often, that's not my idea of fun. I spliced this into the brake light wiring of my 95 BMW R1100. I didn't even have to cut the wiring; I just used a blade connector and drilled a tiny hole behind the brake light into the "trunk" area, fished the wires through, and used the included sticky tape to mount the module on the backside of the brake light mount. This way, if it does ever happen to fail, I can simply unplug the blade connector and plug the brake light in directly.I made a rookie mistake at first and didn't wrap the new connections in electrical tape, which resulted in my brake light fuse blowing. My fault, easy fix.Anecdotally, I do believe that cars stay farther back from me now and notice me at traffic lights more.

Great Tool for Better Safety
As all riders know, we get hit because people don't see us; this helps solve that problem. It took about 20 minutes to install; all you have to do is find the brake light power wire, cut it, then wire each end into this module. I highly recommend heat shrink butt connectors to keep the mud and water out. Last step was to tape it down with the supplied double sided tape. All in all highly satisfied and it was cheaper here than at the manufacture's website!

Quality safety product.
Unit was pretty easy to install if you are comfortable with basic nuts and bolts stuff on your bike and simple wiring work. I hate messing with anything electrical, but I was able to handle it without too much stress. The unit works as advertised. The only thing I've noticed is that there is a fraction of a second delay between putting on the brakes and the brake light coming on. I feel this is an acceptable trade-off for the flashing feature. I have noticed people responding better to my braking and some people leaving a little more space when stopping behind me at lights. It's not a huge difference, but it does seem to make me more noticeable. Overall, I am very pleased with this product. Hope this helps.

excellent product
The device is very easy to install, if you have the proper tools, ie wire connectors, crimper and perhaps a volt meter if you need to find your brake light wire. It took me about 10 minutes or so, to isolate the brake light wire in the rear harness of my bike and about 3 minutes to cut and splice the device into the circuit. The device works as advertised, at least on my 2010 Vulcan 900 Classic LT.Whether or not it significantly improves your brake light visibility in bright daylight conditions, I don't know. But, it certainly works very well in darker conditions and at night.I purchased this device in addition to their plug and play version of this product, SIGNAL DYNAMICS MODULE HEADLIGHT 01013 and this product, Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic Cobra Lightbar Light Bar LT . All of these devices are designed to improve your visibility. I really like the Cobra light bar and this brake light device. The headlight module hasn't arrived yet, so I don't know about it yet.I live in the Detroit metro area and I believe that a biker needs all the visibility that he can get while driving in the traffic associated with large cities. You'll never know how many drivers will "see" you because of these devices that would not have without them, but I believe that they are worth the cost and effort if they only prove effective once. Nothing will protect you from the complete idiots that you encounter.

Great product
I love the back off light. I installed it on my Piaggio scooter behind the tail light. There was a thread on the vespa owners forum explaining which wires to splice it into. I used crimped butt connectors. The Back off unit took about 10 minutes to install, including my tests, but the excavation to get the tail light assembly on and then replaced took me about and hour. I am not a mechanic so I took my time. If you know what you're doing it might only take half an hour.I noticed immediately that drivers behind me tended to stop with more space between us at stop signs and when slowing down for turns they give me more room. I definitely think it is worth the investment.

Super Easy Install
I bought this for my 2012 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom. The installation was a breeze (I'm used to building prototypes and working with electronics). The best part is that the module is small enough to fit in the space under the brake light housing where all the wiring is located. Two butt splices, some heat shrink tubing and a couple of small zip ties had the wires all dressed, secure, out of sight and protected from the elements. I've read where some people have mounted it under the seat, but there's no need to do that on a Vulcan if you plan on keeping the stock brake light assembly.

Good for standard, non LED
Will work nicely for standard bulbs. but WILL NOT work for most LED applications.I mistakenly bought this for a tail light thinking it would be fine but i didn't learn until i received the item that on the packaging it says "does not work with LED bulbs."oh well, ill use it for something else i guess.but yeah, thats why i gave it 4 stars.

A Rider Must-have
Maybe it's just by chance, but ever since I installed this onto my bike, I have had little to no close encounters with cars tailing or getting too close when I'm approaching a stop/slow. Keep in mind how much one daydreams when driving, so if a flashing red light appears before you while you're driving, you're bound to notice it.I installed it on to my XL Givi rear luggage with much ease 2 years ago (it still functions great), and really enjoy the piece of mind of knowing drivers behind me take notice when I apply the brakes.
