Guess What My Friends Are Getting For Xmas
I have bought 3 of the Beer Tenders for gifts. I think they are required for anyone who loves beer. Let me start off that my major gripe is that you only can use with Heinkein of Newcastle and as a true beer lover I would love to see a greater selections which would include micro brews like Stone or Laguinatas. However nothing is better than draft beer and I will gladly drink Heinkein. It takes about 24 hours for the beer to get chilly enough to drink in the Beer Tender and the first beer is a little foamy but after that every pour is perfect and cold. As a tip keep a glass in your freezer and it will add to the enjoyment and cut down on the foam. Every 5 liters will need a new straw so make sure you order extra. The beertender is somewhat bulky and does need some clearance room to put and take out the keg. All in all after 6 months and 7 kegs later the Beertender still works great. As I said I am giving these out as Christmas gifts so I really do support the product.

Expensive, short-lifed mess maker
I am very disappointed with this BeerTender. I thought it would last more than one football season. It didn’t.It also never chilled beer to my preference. AND, make one tiny mistake and you have a keg that won’t turn off. Even without power, you’ve got yourself a gusher.I would look for alternatives before purchasing this. I’m looking for something else now—and like the prices a lot better.Don’t forget to add the cost, and consider the availability, of the tubes to every mini-keg you purchase and hope to pour!

GREAT BEER TENDER
WE HAD AN ORIGINAL $300+ KRUPS BEER TENDER. AFTER 3 YEARS IT DIED. I TOOK A CHANCE ON THIS LESS EXPENSIVE MODEL AND, WOW, I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. IT HAS THE SAME CHILLING UNIT AS THE EXPENSIVE MODEL, IS EASIER TO LOAD AND WORKS GREAT. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE HIGH PRICED ONE, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE ONLY GOOD FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS. THIS MODEL DOESN'T HAVE A GAUGE TO TELL YOU HOW FULL THE KEG IS, BUT THE ONE ON THE MORE EXPENSIVE BROTHER DOESN'T WORK WORTH A DARN ANYWAY. WE LIVE IN HOT OKLAHOMA, BUT THIS BEAST KEEPS THE BEER GOOD AND COLD. JUST REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR NEXT KEG IN THE FRIDGE. THEN WHEN YOU CHANGE OUT KEGS, YOUR READY TO ENJOY WITHOUT ANY DELAY.

Hard to Complain
This thing keeps Heineken, Heineken Light, or Newcastle (why just those I'm not sure) kegs at a cool 37 degrees Fahrenheit. The tap itself works perfectly, not as hefty or judicious as a true bar tap, but no problem. Has a very quiet fan that blows warmth out the back, but no problem with the sound or undue heat. Many say that it pours a lot of foam, but if you skillfully use it, even the first beer of the keg can be poured with little head.Minor complaints:I wish the plastic tap hoses were the proper length. they are just an inch or so too long so you have to wrap them a little when closing. The Kegs themselves should come with a reusable sticker for what is currently inside. Doesn't make sense to have a decal that only says Heineken when that is only one of the choices.A tap empty-to-full indicator would have been nice, as it is, you just have to keep drinking until it starts spitting.

So far...
OK - so I read all of the reviews about poor customer service - but (luckily) I haven't had to contact them. The plastic "chrome" feels a bit cheap and concerns over the draft pull breaking always enter my mind. Not hard to use - or connect. Please know that one "draught keg" equals about 12 twelve oz beers. Two of these twelve are pure foam - yes - even when properly chilled / poured.Draught kegs (around VA) cost between $18 and $24 each... when you can find them... one grocer's beer rep told me they weren't ordering them as they are "a short time from being a discontinued novelty item". Take that for what it's worth... just one man's statement... STILL - they are becoming harder to find (none found within an hour's drive lately).Think with all being said, I'd been better off with a kegerator or something else using "standard" kegs (or pony kegs).
