PecowareButterfly Diary with Lock

Reading the other reviews, it appears that many people purchased this to give to little girls. Well, I am in my 60's and I thought it was so pretty, I bought it for myself! I use it as a journal and a place to write my thoughts and prayers. It is very lovely, and the picture does not do it justice. It looks much, much nicer in person. The cover is decorated with sequins, tiny seed pearls and bugle beads. The lock is also decorated. The pages are pink, have wide-ruled easy-to-write-in lines, a space for the date, and have drawings of happy-looking flowers. The back of the pages are white. The only complaint I have is that it appears my copy may have gotten damp at some point, as the pages lay a little bit unevenly and the first ten or so pages were stuck together and had to be separated. However, it still deserves five stars! And it would make a great gift for a girl of any age!

My 9 year old sister has entered that age where kid's like to say mean things to eachother and bully another, and at the time I found out she was being bullied by someone (which has now stopped) and she didn't like to talk about it. So I thought a diary would be a perfect thing for her to get so she can express her feelings and not keep it held up inside. She loved it as a birthday gift and i'm sure uses it all the time. Can't prove that she uses it, because the only was to do so is look in the book, but YOU CAN'T DO THAT! But I'm sure she does, and I'm glad how happy it made her to get one. It even has a little heart shaped lock with key for it! It's a cute little journal that was cheap and has a nice design.CANT GO WRONG! IT'S A PERFECT GIFT!

This diary is much prettier than it looks in the picture above. My daughter is 7 and she absolutely loves it.We did, however, have two problems with it: one, the diary has crystals attached to the cover and it arrived with a few of the crystals broken off. I assume this was due to poor packaging, not flimsy construction, as we have not had a problem with any other breakage over the last several weeks. Second, the lock is extremely flimsy and my daughter accidentally broke it within two days. As far as I can tell you can't purchase a replacement lock, which was a bummer for her.However, those are two fairly minor issues (the lock being the bigger problem but I'm pretty much over it now that we solved it by getting a pink luggage lock instead). Overall, the diary is beautiful, the pages are a decent thickness, and it's a great gift for any little girl who likes to write.

Gave this to my daughter for Valentine's Day. She adores it. Carries it everywhere. It comes with two keys which is nice because she lost the first one in about five minutes flat. We found her key and now keep a second key in the drawer for when she loses the other, which happens about four times a day. And she loses the lock as well. But she enjoys writing in the journal and it helps to improve writing skills. We were so impressed with how cute it was that we bought one recently for her friend's birthday party.

We got this for our granddaughter for Christmas, and she absolutely loved it!! Her little brother had gotten a hold of her diary and torn it apart, so she needed something like this one, with a lock on it, so that her brother could not get it open and tear it apart. Plus, it will be really nice in the future for when her brother learns to read!! This way he won't be able to read her diary when that time comes!! :) She loves the butterflies!! Happy with our purchase! It is good quality and nicely made!

Very cute diary, but the lock broke apart within an hour of use by my 7 year old. Similar to another reviewer, my daughter had already written in the diary. We ended up using a luggage lock to replace it, and are going to let our daughter paint the lock so it doesn't look so bad. Other than the lock, the book is cute. Really nice beading on the outside cover, pink pages, lined paper - really nice. Even the lock was cute - heart shaped with a heart key... too bad it broke!

This was a gift for my 5 year old granddaughter. She has her mother write a few sentences every night about her day. She loves it and I think she will enjoy reading it later in life. This was exactly what she had been asking for. Her mother keeps the second key in a safe place, but the diary is carefully locked every night. This seemed a way for her express some emotions about her life. I would buy this again. It is very pretty and the little lock works well. She has had this less than a month.

I bought this for my daughter who wanted a diary with a lock that she saw at the book fair at school. I thought the one she wanted wasn't girly enough so I let her pick one from Amazon instead. This was so much nicer in person than in the picture! the butterflies actually have a nice sequin like beading, very pretty! The pages are a pretty pink with a design around the edges and are lined for writing. My daughter is 6 and the line spacing is good enough for her writing. I love this diary and I don't think you could find a prettier, girly diary. Highly recommend!
