Works perfectly, smells great, feels good.
I used this product to cover up a few straggly gray hairs I’ve been developing (super annoying), and I didn’t want to pay >$100 for a professional job when it was just the roots that were bugging me out. So I decided to try this out. And I love it! The color and activator come in 2 separate plastic tubes that you combine together in a plastic tray (provided) to form the color mixture. You only use what you need, which means that if you’re just touching up roots you can easily save the rest for later use, which is pretty cool, and a great value. The kit also comes w/ a comb (to help separate your hair into layers for the coloring process), a plastic cover (so you don’t stain your clothes or towels), and 2 trial sets of shampoo and conditioner, which was a really nice touch. I used Natural Brown, which — as mentioned in some other reviews — was actually a bit darker than I expected, but still looked natural and blended well w/ my natural hair color (I’m Asian) and balyage coloring. I loved that there was no chemical scent to the product at all. It also rinsed out nicely and didn’t leave me w/ that pasty-gritty build-up I’ve had w/ other home coloring kits, which can be hard to wash out. The shampoo and conditioner samples that were included smelled amazing when I was rinsing and really did a great job keeping my hair smooth and soft. Yes, my hair *actually* felt healthier after using this product!! Amazing. Ultimately, I got good coverage, an even natural color, it was easy to do, and I feel confident that I did’t just riddle my already-sensitive hair to an excess of heinous chemicals. Easy process and great experience overall.

I liked it...worth a try if you want brown hair!
Before ordering I looked all over the internet for photos or a video of this product being applied so that I could understand it a bit better. There really wasn't much out there. I'm in my mid-40's, of Germanic origin and have been coloring my hair for about 25 years. It's starting to thin and I have lately noticed scalp and skin reactions to drugstore hair dye. Refusing to go grey gracefully (just cannot do it) I briefly considered henna and walnut dye before finding this product. I ordered this with hopes that it would cover my grey (10-20%) without wrecking my hair or giving me hives and restoring me to my natural base color ... in the range of a 5/6. Happy to report zero chemical reactions and hair feels healthy. For the record, the instructions do come in English. I used a professional brush and bowl to apply 1/2 of the entire box of pudding like product to unwashed and completely dry hair, roots first (virgin hair), let that process for 10 min and then applied the remaining product thru the mid shaft and ends of my hair for additional 10 min. The color came out even...so that's good....but it is slightly darker overall than I would prefer. The color is definitely a warm brown. If you don't like red-tones...steer clear. If I were to do it all over again, I would keep the 10 min processing time for my roots and reduce the processing time to 5 min (or less?) on the rest of the hair. I am including photos so you can see before/during/after. The product mixed up easily. It initially smelled like a barnyard, but that dissipated within 5 min or so. I thought it smelled like ivory soap while it was processing. I don't notice any residual smell now that my color is complete/dried. I didn't feel like the process was all that different from any other box color I have used. My hair did feel a little dry after washing the product out. I applied a heavy duty conditioning mask afterward and then followed up with a leave in treatment before drying/styling. Hope this helps!

The best at covering my stubborn gray hair
I have been coloring my hair since I was in my 20’s. I am now 52. I started out coloring my hair for fun. As I got older, gray hair quickly took over. I now color my hair because I HAVE to. I have tried almost every boxed dye and salon grade hair dye, I’ve purchased and used additives that were supposed to help cover my stubborn grays but didn’t. I’ve paid a lot of money in salon visits to keep those grays from shining through (I’m a brunette so they are easily visible) I’ve switched hair dressers in the past because I thought they weren’t doing a good job because I was leaving the salon with the gray hair above my ears still showing through. I assumed they weren’t doing a well enough job, After my 3rd hairdresser I came to the realization I have stubborn resistant gray hair. It wasn’t the hairstyles fault. I had to accept that I would need to be making salon visits every 4 weeks. Then quarantine happened, I was forced to have to color my own hair! I was searching Amazon reviews for a hair dye formulated to cover stubborn gray hair. I came across this brand and after reading the reviews, I thought I should give it a try. I have now used this product twice and it’s the best hair color I have ever used! I left the dye on my gray roots for 15 minutes and the last 5 minutes, I blended the remaining dye throughout my hair. My grays are covered and my highlights are still in tact,. The color is soft and not harsh. It covers my stubborn gray . The consistency is thick making it easy to apply . My only reason for not giving it a 5 star review. The smell. It’s horrible. You don’t notice the smell after a few minutes of using it and your hair doesn’t smell after using. I will definitely be purchasing again. This dye lasts longer and doesn’t fade as I have experienced with both professional and boxed hair dye.
