The first time evil walked across the old bridge in Mississippi was 1918. When forensic psychologist Elizabeth Monroe crosses the midpoint on the bridge in search of her daughter’s killer, there is no turning back. Elizabeth makes the connection between a heinous crime that happened in 1918 and the recent death of a college student. Old families. Old money. A new vendetta. And the only one who's standing in the way is Elizabeth Monroe. Review: WOW! Another great series!! - What can I say about Tom Lowe's new book Wrath? One word comes to mind...AMAZING! Another winner with the newest series about Elizabeth Monroe. It pulls you in right from page one and it has you going right up to the last page. The only "downside" is that I have to have patience and wait for the next book in the series. It is worth the read as it helps you escape into a world that is not work, paying bills and grocery shopping. I have not read any book by Tom that isn't stellar. He is a true talent and I highly recommend to anyone who likes action, suspense, mystery and pure enjoyment. He has a gift, one that keeps on giving with each book he writes. Enjoy! Review: Frightening but sad. - Sad because there are people who think violence is the way to achieve what they believe is their right and often innocent ones are killed as the result. Frightening because they are our neighbors. The story is good and engrossing, stemming if I recall correctly, from another Tom Lowe book. There were a couple of errors to stir up the grammatically correct readers but what bothered me most was this supposedly bright woman who did several dumb things. Most glaring was when she "didn't think" to write down the license plate number of a truck thought to belong to a killer!

It was just a good story and well told
This book grabbed my interest in that Elizabeth Monroe is an unlikely heroine struggling about the death of her daughter. I thought the victims in the book were portrayed ethically and honestly. It was just a good story and well told. I am waiting for the next Elizabeth Monroe Book to come out. My husband has been reading Tom Lowe for several years and I have listened to several reviews of his other books which sounded interesting but I think because this book had a Woman lead in it I was tempted to read it when my husband recommended it. I'm glad I did.

Evil Sought to Stop it
I have been a fan of Lowe's Sean O'Brien series since the start. The new Elizabeth Monroe series brings a female professor's expertise in forensic profiling. Her daughter Molly Monroe was killed and Elizabeth still seeks the one who took her life. Molly's tragedy was introduced in Lowe's The Butterfly Forest as was Elizabeth. Sean and Elizabeth are similar as in they have guts and courage to face down evil. Great crime drama with southern locations depicted. Amazing characters are introduced who no doubt will appear later in this series. Stand alone read that does not end on a cliff hanger but rather leaves us anxious for more to come. Don't miss this one or any of author's other books. Hoping Elizabeth and Sean will cross paths again.

This book is a must read!
Mr Lowe writes great mysteries! I've read one series he wrote about a brave man who lives in a cabin on a river and also on a boat. I loved that series and was sad that I finished it. Maybe he'll write more about that hero. I've read two of this series with Elizabeth Monroe as the heroine. This, too is a wonderful series, at least I hope I find more! But this particular book is completely appropriate for this time! It's a must read! If you care about life, liberty and justice, this is the book for you!

Good Series Opener
Good story, well written, with a fresh and likeable lead character. No real surprises, but still a very enjoyable read. The author does a great job describing the locations. I can almost smell the honeysuckle and hear the cicadas. I will definitely read the next Elizabeth Monroe installment.

Unedited Masterpiece
I gave this masterpiece a three star rating only because of too many mistakes. Come on Mr Lowe, check your work. Your story was a Masterpiece.

A serial killer, a hanging bridge, and determined people to solve the mystery linked to history.
I don't normally like heroines but because it was tom lowe I decided to try it and within the first 5 chapter of the sample I was hooked, line and sinker included. An absolutely riveting murder mystery that is based on history and believable today! I've read everything tom lowe has written and have loved them all. I read the Butterfly Forrest first and 24th Letter and all the Sean O'Brien series.

Wrath(Elizabeth Monroe book 1)
I really like anything by Tom Lowe, his books keep my interest from cover to cover. Elizabeth is a strong woman, who has kept her sanity through her the travesty of her daughter’s death.

Awesome
The book was absolutely awesome - it was very hard to put down - I am very interested in Criminal Psychology and this book was so interesting , it was like I was sitting right there with Elizabeth Monroe listening to her - I loved the way you tied it back to her daughters murder in the Sean O’Brien series - can’t wait for the next book

A Good Read That I Highly Recommend in Spite of Some Proofreading Errors.
I've somewhat reluctantly awarded 4 stars to this book as I really enjoyed reading it as I have all of Tom Lowe's "Sean O'Brien" series and also "Destiny and I'm very happy to see that he has more to follow in both cases but there are a few things that I'll talk about later that have made me downgrade this book somewhat. First the good stuff - As usual Tom bases his plot, if perhaps a bit loosely, on some actual historic incident as told in the prologue which, as horrendous as it was, surely sets up the reader's interest for the story to follow. Also I like it when an author takes characters like Elizabeth Monroe who we first met in "The Butterfly Forrest" and makes them the MC of their own series. Of course we also met Henry Griffin, although not by name, in "The Butterfly Forrest" and Elizabeth's daughter, Molly. I thought it was very neat and well done how Tom merged the two storylines into another of his big bang shoot-em-up rock solid endings. A good book and I'm looking forward to the next Elizabeth Monroe adventure. Now to the the only real problem I found with this book and this fault was very common with the earliest Sean O'Brien books but seemed to improve as the series progressed and that is the bad proofreading. I'll include a few examples and in almost every case these errors would pass the computor spell checker, which was obviously used, but should have been caught by a human reader. There are many of these scattered throughout the book and these are only a small sampling. A major error is in the name of the character “Alex Davidson” which 4 times in chapters 15, 43 65 and 77 is written as “Davison” . though his father always seems to be called “Davidson” . Then there are many cases of missing letters on words or letters on words that shouldn't be there such as in the last paragraph of chapter 88 where the word “at” should really read “a”. Here's another example that changes the meaning of a sentence - "forceful move. He’ll keep his hands close to the action. Is it a bluff OF a big hand?” “I wouldn’t know.” Hal smiled. “It could be either. So you have to watch the eyes, watch the moment a" Now I have one huge error in the following quote by Hannah Arendt that I can't see how it passed a computor spellcheck unless this quote was imported as an image file ““The sad truth is that most evil is done by people who can never make up their NINDS to be either good evil. Hannah Arendt; Also notice the missing “or” ? To me these things ruin a good reading experience and just shouldn't happen

Intense reading. Thought provoking. Makes me wonder if this story at parts isn’t fiction today. Would have preferred less bible referrals, but maybe that was the idea, which made me wonder about the status of beliefs in some countries today.
