Q: What is the difference between "Adult 1-1/2" and 24" to 48" in the size field?

24 and 48 are the belt length. So your measurements where you want the belt to fit will dictate the belt length you buy.

Q: is this youth or adult?

Fits youth and adults. Adjustable from 28" waist to 52" waist. I bought it for my 14 and 17 year old boys and 11 year old daughter.

Q: What is the waist size for the youth 1-1/4" belt? 32-46 inch seems like an adult size measurement.

I disagree with the others on this, I measured mine and the youth is 16" to 24" (Measuring from the metal thing to the last belt hole). So there is no way this can go longer than 24"

Q: Will this fit a boy size 3t?

It wouldn't fit through my 5 year old's belt loops.
