I like these bags as they are much better for the planet than the normal plastic ones (which we should not be using for obvious reasons) Downside is they are somewhat less practical in shape, closure method, and strength. Also I think the cost is relatively high.

Today I went fishing around in my compost bin to try and find the bag I threw in there about six months ago. I was fully expecting this to be a bit of a con and to find the bag intact. So I was really pleased that I couldn't actually find a bag at all. However after a bit more digging around I find the remnants and I photograph them here. I think another couple of months and the bag will be completely combusted. My composter isn't a very hot one and most of the food I throw in there and scraps are eaten by insects. So it's barely risen in level in 10 years they probably take me 400 years to fill it. So yes, In a very inefficient composter these bags take 6 to 8 months to come past, and that they actually do that is absolutely brilliant!!

I have used these as freezer bags for all sorts, including chopped raw veg, marinated meats that are quite liquid in consistency with no leakage at all. They are more expensive than plastic but it turns out you can wash them and reuse them without compromising the bag so happy days!

I got them to portion my dog frozen raw meals due to lack of space in the freezer. Yeah, useful, sturdy, close well and u can write on them. Plus I feel better for the environment if I need to throw them away but still try to wash them and reuse them when I can.

I just got another two packs of these bags, we had them before and use them mainly for my daughter's packed lunch and picnics, not so much for freezing.They are really good and while obviously expensive I pay the price because I can't find another way to keep sandwiches fresh.But - according to the description the shelf live is 10-12 months, the production date is printed. My pack says 2020-07, so we are already nearly 10 months in. I am not too concerned if I just use them for lunch but it may obviously impact freezing capabilities. How many people use 100 bags in 2 months?

Really surprised, I've had compostable bags before and they've been very weak. These are bloody good. I use them to freeze chicken breasts and salmon. They still seem fine after being in the freezer. Definitely buying again.

good size, good price. i want these to package small amounts of snackage for people attending a weekend event here, but couldn't stand the thought of little plastic bags. these are just right!
