Ghirardelli Black Label Chocolate Sauce 87.3 Ounce with Ghirardelli Pump and Spoon

We own an ice cream shop and use this as our chocolate syrup. Customers love it and it's super easy to use. Take the pump out of the bags and insert into container, making sure it's all right or it will leak. Product is very smooth and not grainy. I would say this tastes more like a dark chocolate than a milk chocolate to me.

The product itself tasted good. A good dark chocolate that mixes well with, in my case, coffee. HOWEVER, everything else about the problem was horrible, complete with a nightmarish twist ending!Originally the product pumped the chocolate sauce nicely and uniformly, but after a couple days of using it it began to show signs that the pump was just cheap and bad and possibly not intended to work with the thickness of the sauce? Instead of uniform pumps, it began to shoot out only air and required several pumps to get one squirt of the sauce. Very frustrating. At one point the pump FIRED off from the container and shot across the room, getting chocolate everywhere.After a long time of using it, since it was such a big bottle, I couldn't get any more product to come out. I gave up on the pump and removed it, I would simply have to find a way to scoop out the sauce itself. Only to discover when I removed the pump, a thick cloud of greenish dust fired up into my face. When I pulled the straw part of the pump up, it was covered in viscous green gunk... chocolate syrup that had grown a colony of mold over the entirety of it. In the bottom of the container was intact chocolate, but probably 50% of any exposed product in there was covered in a fuzzy greenish layer of mold. Who knows how long I was continuing to pull the syrup and just didn't know?DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I initially bought a smaller container of the same product and found it very difficult to dispense because the sauce is fairly viscous. However, the larger (and cheaper) container comes with a pump dispense that works great and delivers the perfect amount of syrup for a mocha! The ingredients of the Ghirardelli chocolate sauce also seem more natural compared to some other chocolate syrups on the market.

My husband liked this. It is dark chocolate. Very thick and hard to use pump at all. If you do use it, must clean after each use or it will never be cleared. Syrup is slow to pour at room temperature. It won’t move if refrigerated.

As others have said, the issue is the package.I use this sauce for mocha lattes. It’s delicious and easy to portion using the pump. But when it gets down to the bottom, the pump doesn’t reach and you’re left with a lot of sauce you can’t get out.HERE’S WHAT I DO:I fill the kitchen sink with a few inches hot water. Set the container in the water for a few minutes so the chocolate loosens up. Remove the spout and pour the sauce into a glass container with a lid. I use a large canning jar. It typically gives me close to 2 cups of chocolate that would have been wasted. It sounds like a lot of work but it really only takes 5 minutes. Then I just use my coffee teaspoon to scoop out my portion when I brew my latte.This design clearly needs to be improved. But I still prefer the large option versus the smaller, more expensive bottles that I tend to over portion.

I love making iced mochas with this chocolate it's so delicious I make an Iced mocha every morning so getting this size is worth it. Nothing wrong with keeping a good amount of chocolate around, sometimes I'll grab a strawberry and just pour some of this chocolate over it and it's so goood who doesn't love chocolate covered strawberries. Worth the buy!

I figured I buy this for my iced mocha's instead of buying the little 10 oz bottles. Firstly, the chocolate is delicious. My problem is with the pump that it comes with. I've had 2 of them just break and fall apart on me. So I had to put it inside down into a cup to get the sauce out.
