It's just the key blank, not the fob
When I first saw this, I thought it was the remote fob, but it's not. It's just a lookalike with a blank key that you can get made to match the key that's in your fob. I'd like to have another fully functioning fob, but all I really needed was the key, and that works fine.

Not happy product is useless. Didn’t come with any instructions returning it
I needed to replace my original smart key case because it was broken and hard to function. So bought this new one to replace it but I was totally disappointed since it only came with just a shell no instructions no nothing so it rendered itself useless! I need to return it.

Needs fine work with sharp blades and a magnifier lamp. Instructions are non-existent.
The original Mazda key fob is difficult to disassemble. Careful work with a sharp X-acto knife will free the circuit card and contacts, though. Be careful! The replacement plastic shell parts are well-molded and accommodate the circuit card and contacts well enough. A small piece of transparent plastic that is supposed to hold the battery contacts in place doesn't fit the space where it was intended to fit. A dab of gorilla glue would work in its place, though. The case needs careful gluing along the edges. Superglue seems to be the right kind of glue, but have some solvent handy to wipe off the excess and avoid making a sticky mess. Finally, the Mazda logo needs to be carefully removed from the old fob and glued into the space on the new fob. Again, superglue will do the job.

It's an empty Shell
Likes: Looks like a Mazda Smart Card, the circuit board fit in properlyDislikes: The areas around the battery were hard to get glued together. The battery compartment seems too thin for the battery. As others have said, getting the old shell apart, particularly the battery connectors is a bit of a challenge. I would have preferred that they re-engineered the case to snap together, even if it slightly affected the dimensions.
