Could you adjust the bottom shelf to store records

Shelves are not high enough for LP storage. Pangea makes a turntable rack which has a shelf that can store LPs, but, it doesn't have as many shelves. You can purchase a separate (add-on) shelf that is tall enough for LP storage.
