if you like color pictures you will love this book
OK, this is essentially a picture book for grown ups, but it's a really great one! They are all color photos and they span QE2's life. There are pictures from the most formal of events to ones in her "everyday queen" clothes doing normal things like walking her dogs. The book spans almost 90 years, so it will appeal to someone who has an interest in the evolution of fashion, how to accessorize an outfit (it can be hard to decide which royal jewels go with what), as well as QE2 fans in general and people into those silly elaborate hats she almost always has on. You will notice she does wear things more than once. If you want some meaty text, there is none, but pretty pictures abound. For what it is it's great and who doesn't love a woman who carries a purse around inside of her own home? Let me tell you, I will never walk my dogs again w/o wearing pearls and a Hermès scarf! The dimensions of the book are given, it is smaller than standard HB books. It is exactly the size stated.

Brilliant
What a wonderful book! So many insights and wonderful photos. I too am a great fan of just the Queen and I'm not a Brit :)

Absolutely wonderful !
This is an absolutely marvelous book about the way the Queen dresses and some insight into why she dresses the way she does. Yes, the size of the book is small but the pictures are wonderful. Each page gives details about the outfit and offers some quite interesting trivia. I am pleased to have this book as part of my collection on British royalty.

A Colorful Tribute To A Supreme Queen
Our Rainbow Queen: A Tribute to Queen Elizabeth is a fabulous book for fans of the QEII. I'm a huge fan of the Queen's . I admire her dignity, grace and style. This book illustrates all three of those qualities. The Queen's style is as timeless as elegance itself. This book is great for those times when you need something to pass the time , like when you 're on a road trip or plane ride. This is a small book, so it wouldn't be hard to pack!

Lovely
Smaller than I expected. I was also hoping for just commentary on the wardrobe but it goes very political and a few spots. If you just look at the pictures it’s lovely

Beautiful images and gorgeous use of color in the design of the book
The photos and colors in this book are beautiful and just what I had hoped. Unfortunately, its smalls size (approx 5" x 7") does not do justice to the lovely images of Queen Elizabeth II. The book would truly shine if it were a bit larger. It may not be the size of a coffee table book, but it is a fantastic retrospective of Her Majesty's fashion. The descriptions and anecdotes throughout the book are a thoughtful touch and bring more meaning to the outfits. The use of every color in the rainbow does not just apply to Her Majesty's clothing choices; the entire book itself is an ode to color!

INTERESTING BUT NOT WORTH THE MONEY !
Some mistakes need correcting :1. The Queen in not riding “ pillion”, she is riding “ side saddle” - pillion means to sit behind someone else .2. The Earl and Countess of Wessex were not married in a civil ceremony - I believe Sali is confusing this event with the marriage of Charles and Camilla . The Earl and Countess were married in St George’s Chapel. The Bishop of Norwich conducted the ceremony .3. The Queen and Queen Mother are not wearing “ riding boots” at Badminton , they’re just boots - riding boots come up to the knee , they do not end mid calf .4. “ character shoes “ are T- Bar shoes , the Queen does not wear character shoes !5. There is no “ horse racing “ at Royal Windsor Horse Show “ - so the Queen usually doesn’t dress up for it - she wears a Barbour and tweed skirt with headscarf unless she’s presenting a prize in the showing or jumping classes when she does get dressed up .The book is an interesting but hardly unique photographic “ trip” around the wardrobe of the Queen over the years .I expected a bit more from Sali to be honest , this just seems a lazy way of making money - she writes well usually, so why has she seemingly had so little input in this book ? And the basic mistakes she has made surrounding one of the most important sides of the Queen , ie her love of horses , make me think she’s done almost no real research at all regarding that aspect of HM’s life .Borrow it if you can - you are never going to re-read this or use it for reference - the handbag code , the brooch code , these are all things we know already .The only piece of interesting information to me was how Rigby and Peller lost their Royal Warrant .Sorry Sali - hoping your book scheduled for 2020 is better than this as I usually give your efforts 5 stars . Can’t do it on this largely due to the mistakes I’ve mentioned above .

Beautiful Pictures
There are lots of books around about the Queen and Royal Family - mostly nostalgic twaddle. This is excellent as it portrays all her outfits without any sentimental commentary. The most unusual feature of the book is that it is colour-grouped; all the Queen's outfits in red/yellow/blue etc. If you're interested in fashion this makes it easy to see which colours suit her best and makes you consider shades and tones. The outfits are nearly all shown with matching hats and accessories and are actual photographs of the Queen wearing them at various functions. It's a brilliant gift - my only gripe is that I wish it were available in a larger format. This is only A5 size and is a bit small.

A beautiful book!
Such a beautifully composed book. I bought a copy for my Mother-in-law as I knew she would love it but am now going to have to order another copy for myself! Love or loath the monarchy, our Queen is an amazing woman and this book celebrates that in rainbow coloured goodness!

A unique and thoroughly enjoyable book
For anyone like myself who enjoys all things royal, this book is an absolute delight to enjoy. There are many ways in which you can read it - begin with your favourite colour, or do it in rainbow order, start at the back etc. It's just a fun and interesting insight into some of the fashion decisions of our very independent and capable Queen.

Colourful
I'd probably read a shopping list written by Sali Hughes - I find her writing style to be that engaging.I enjoyed this look at our monarch in a variety of coloured clothes. It's the kind of thing you'd pick up in a museum gift shop to give to a grandmother or auntie.
