Have a major issue with the Teckin Smart Light Switch in that now I’m going to have to replace all my light switches. 😜Previously I was complacent in the fact that I’d have to manually switch on and off my lights. Now all I have to do is say, “Alexa, turn off living room lights.”Oh, did I forget to mention that Teckin Smart Light Switches work with both Alexa and the Google Assistant for voice control? And if you’d prefer not to have a voice assistant you can use the free Smart Life app to control your lights.Installation is like any standard light switch and the included user manual is easy to understand. You will then be walked through set up in the Smart Life app including entering wifi information and renaming your smart light switch for easier control.Once the device has been added to the Smart Life app you can set schedules so you can come home to a house with lights on. Or save on your electric bill by having all your lights automatically turn off at a certain time every night.

Having done a few already, it took about 10 minutes to install and about 1 minute to set up with Wifi. I use both the Smart Things app and Alexa to control it. Both work just fine.I received a product in exchange for a test and review. I would recommend this product.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I have many types of smart devices: light bulbs, lock, surge protectors, outlets, hubs, thermostat but I didn’t have a light switch. I bought this one and even though I was a bit scared of the process of removing the old one and installing this one. But since you had to toggle the breaker to off, my fear of electrocuting myself basically disappeared. You match the wires on switch to the corresponding wires in wall, they don’t always have same colored wires in the wall as a new switch. So make sure that before you disconnect old switch you take a picture of what wire was where on it, to avoid confusion and more. Once I had back in the wall, I downloaded the smart life app and set it up. It needs 2.4 WiFi connection wont see 5G WiFi at all, a lot of smart devices only run on 2.4. Set up was a breeze and was quickly able to import the switch to Alexa and haven’t used the Smart life app since. FYI doesn’t work with Siri or Apple Home.

But it is very hard for them to turn on and off the lights via Google voice assistance (we use Google Home). I came across this smart switch and wanted to give it a try. As you can see in the pictures, all the wires are very well labeled. Installing process is very easy since my apartment has the same color-coded wires as the smart switch. The switch itself feels fairly premium and has a satisfying clicky feel and sound to it (Just like a mechanical keyboard). Connecting the switch with the app is very easy and straight forward; the user manual includes several ways to connect to the app so one way or the other, you can connect the switch with the app. By the way, you do not need a smart light bulb for this to work, as you can just use your classic traditional light bulb. The response time is pretty good for this price point as well. I would recommend easily recommend this light switch to anyone who is looking to get into smart home ecosystem. They also offer 1 year warranty so that's nice.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  It's a four-wire switch, so you have to make sure you connect a three-wire to it correctly. You must have a neutral wire in the box where you mount it. Unless your house is pretty ancient, there should be neutral wires in the box connected together. Other than that, it was pretty simple to install. It integrated with my Alexa just fine.

The light switch works well! It's a pretty simple installation. You just need to open the existing light switch you want to replace and connect the line, load, ground, and neutral wires. (make sure your house has a neutral before getting this - some of the old houses don't have this). That's it! It should work after that. The box comes with everything you'd need (the wires, wiring diagram + instructions, screws, wire nuts, and the front cover). The light switch is definitely thick (the smart ones pretty much all are these days) and will require you to push the wires in to make space. The front cover is only for if you have a single light switch box. Otherwise, you'll have to use your existing cover. This isn't a big deal since the switch itself is the standard size and fits into existing slots.Connecting through the Smart Life is pretty simple. You just have to follow the instructions. Once that is set up, you can connect it to your Google home app and is now accessible by your Google Assistant through your phone or Google Homes. The latter part is the most convenient aspect this whole thing.Overall works well and is simple to install!
