Happy So Far - Perfect Bolt-in Replacement - Can't Review Lifespan Yet
It was a perfect fit in my 2004 R1150R. The terminals, the terminal covers, and the shape of the case appear identical to the OEM BMW gel (not AGM) battery that I replaced. In fact, Yuasa specs this as a perfect replacement for my model BMW. Yuasa even made press releases stating that this battery was designed to fit these bikes perfectly! This battery is different from OEM in that it is an AGM battery, not a gel battery per OEM. Some research I have done indicates that AGM batteries require slightly higher charging voltage to maintain charge and extend battery life. They also require special gel-compatible battery chargers or tenders. However, Yuasa's literature states that as long as the charging system provides over 14V at 3000-4000RPM, then the charging system is adequate for the AGM. My 2004 R1150R shows 14.1V at 3000RPM, so I'm happy, and should have no problem keeping this battery charged.Since I have only had the battery for about a month, I cannot speak to longevity first-hand, but having read extensive reviews and technical information on the web about AGM batteries and this BMW's charging system, there are several owners who are quite happy with other brands of AGM batteries. Many have gotten more than five years of service from their AGM batteries in similar BMW R-bikes. I have had many years of successful service with AGM batteries in other motorcycles, so I am happy to have another AGM battery. I am more happy to have this YT19BL-BS option with the perfect fit - no modifications to terminals or battery box are required.Based on the service history of my R1150R, the OEM gel battery has lasted only 3 years, with a single 4 year lifespan recorded. Considering that the OEM gel battery costs more than twice as much as this AGM battery, I find the BMW OEM gel battery to have totally unacceptable lifespan compared to my experiences with AGM batteries that have lasted as long as eight years (admittedly, in other motorcycles).I find that after riding for an hour or so, if I wait an hour and check battery voltage, it is about 12.8V. After sitting for a day or two it stabilizes around 12.5V and has no problem cranking and starting. The lowest charge I've seen so far was after sitting for 3 days in sub-freezing temps. At 30F it showed 12.49V, and had no problem cranking and starting. So, I wholeheartedly recommend this as a perfect replacement battery, but I cannot speak to longevity yet.

Long Lasting
I just ordered this to replace exact same battery I bought in 2018. Always on a trickle charge when not using regularly (1-2 times a week). That’s over 6 years in my BMW K1600 GT and my 3rd YUASA, 1st was for my R1200 RT. Have never had any issues until now and know it’s time for new one since it’s struggling with starting when hot. Only odd thing is Amazon tells me it’s not compatible with my bike but fits perfect and has never left me stranded. Even now if the bike is cold it starts but not always going to be the case.

Great choice for your BMW R1200RT
I routinely get 6-8 years of life from Yuasa batteries in my motorcycles, and this one I use to power my BMW R1200RT. Use temporary zip ties through the battery terminals to lower the battery into place, and then cut those loose and attach your cables. This battery comes "dry" and you add the battery acid yourself. A slow charge overnight ensures a fresh battery ready to go. I much prefer this method over buying a pre-charged battery which may have been sitting for a long period.

Works properly
Last year I took a chance and purchased a no name battery for my BMW R1150GS.For a few weeks it worked fine, after that I had problems with the ABS caused by the battery. The BMW bikes have a self check sequence on their ABS that initiates after every engine start. The old battery did not have enough cold cranking amps (CCA) to prevent a voltage drop during engine starts. The low voltage would activate an ABS trouble code even though there was just enough power to start the engine.Besides being annoying due to flashing ABS dash lights, the condition disabled my ABS system. The old (few months old) battery was replaced with this Yuasa brand battery to correct that issue.Save yourself $70.00, frustration and the chance of not having your ABS when you need it by purchasing the Yuasa.

Lasted 2.5 years.
I like the battery. Lots of cranking power. I think it should have lasted longer than 2.5 years. Not a lot of use riding in Florida. Always on a battery tender.Buying my second one for my BMW 1150 RT. Hope it last longer than the first.

could I have 2 bad chargers? Maybe if the stars aligned
I bought this battery December of 2015. Arrived in a timely manner which is why I gave it 1 star. I travel for my job so, it took about 2 months for me to get around to opening it, adding the acid and charging it on an AGM specific, automatic charger. I installed it on my bike and discovered there was another issue (with the FI system) on my bike so, knowing It would be a while, I placed it on an automatic, AGM specific trickle charger. Well,.. last couple of months, finally got to resolve my issues with the Fuel system on my bike and popped this thing in. Wouldn't even attempt to start my bike. It shows 12 volts wehn in a rested state but when I go to start it, with a voltmeter on it, it goes down to about 4 volts. It then slowly comes back to 12 or so volts on it. Swapped my other battery (have 2 bikes) in and bike started right away. Needless to say, I was not impressed with the battery in any way shape or form. Put it back on different charger (schumacher) and let it charge for 48 hours. Shows 12 volts. Drops and will not start bike again. Hmm,.. could I have 2 bad chargers? Maybe if the stars aligned,.. I may so,.. put it on my professional Sears rolling charger. Set to automatic... 48 hours. Guess what?.. my other two chargers were not bad. Still showing 12 volts that drops down when it gets a current draw. so,.. I'll be dropping this thing off at Walmart for the $12 core charge this week as I picked up an Everstart AGM from there that starts my bike after adding the acid, and charging it overnight. Waste of money. Oh,.. and where's the warranty?.. the "warranty" link has me calling India and I think.. Thailand?.. Um,.. no. I will assume that Yuasa comes with a 0 year warranty.
