TYRRacetech Performance Goggle

Comfortable, inexpensive swim goggles.
After using speedo goggles exclusively, I tried a set of Tyr goggles. This is the third Tyr I've bought. The other two I have are smoked for sun protection, but I wanted a clear pair for better vision for indoor pool use. I found all three pairs to be more comfortable than the speedo goggles, and I especially recommend the Racetech because it has the adjustable nose piece. I found that the soft, flexible eye gaskets create a good, comfortable "suction" fit to my eye sockets without the need for a very tight headband. If you get these, try a looser fit on the headband (just snug but not really tight) and I think you will be surprised how comfortable they can be. Everyone's face is different, but these work great for me and they are inexpensive. The anti-fog feature seems to work well.

The only goggles that work for me
I've been told I have big eyes. I've been wearing this style for 30 years, through recreational swim leagues, year-round swimming, 2 a day swim practices, meets, through dives, sprint races, and distance. I tried a few times to switch to the hip looking smaller googles, but they always leaked. These are tried and true for me. I suction them on gently, and they're great. They don't fog up, and they don't leak. I took a break from swimming for several years, then ordered these. Maybe the bridge of my nose changed shape or size, but one side of the nose piece was poking me. I trimmed it with scissors, and they're perfect. Not the coolest looking, but functional.

TYR racetech clear goggles
I am a surf lifeguard and I got these for open ocean swims/ run-swim-run events. My goggles see a lot of abuse in the sun, sand, and salt water. Some other guards have the same goggles and I have noticed that they all get foggy due to sand abrasion and sunscreen residue. The strap will also degrade quickly in the outdoor environment. As far as cheap goggles go, this is a reasonable pair- especially in an indoor pool situation. If you plan on using them heavily in the ocean, however, you may want to look at a hardier pair elsewhere.

They keep water out of your eyes, mostly. What else do you need?
I've worn this exact same model of TYR goggles for nearly 30 years. They're more comfortable around the eyes than the "swedes" or non-padded goggles preferred by many people. I never liked those, so I've mostly stuck with these since early childhood swim team days. A different TYR model I had for a few years finally snapped on me a few weeks back, so I had to order some more.Sure, they melt and snap and wear out after too much sunlight or being left in a hot car or just from being used, same as any other goggles ...Mine I ordered last week arrived w/the strap already slightly pockmarked, so I wonder how long they'll last. If they don't make it at least a few years then something's definitely changed. ... I've had pairs of these last for years on end. They've changed up the design a little bit, removing the logo from the sides, and not leaving quite as much strap for adjustments as they used to have. But the fit is still pretty much the same. Good for a spare pare to throw in a bag, and nice that they come in clear, black, blue, etc if you want to adjust for swimming indoors or outside. If you dive or do diving starts from blocks, they do tend to come off a bit more than some other models, but I haven't done that in 20 years so I don't mind so much.

2 Goggles in 2 months.
I bought 2 of these. The plastic piece, which attached the strap to the goggle snapped after 1 week (Used twice). My kid still liked them and insisted on trying again. We ordered a new pair. After a few weeks of use with the new pair, the plastic snapped again. Our previous goggles lasted over 2 years. I wouldn’t recommend these.

Great seal, comfortable swimming goggles
I've used this model goggle for 15 years. They last over 5 years if you replace the straps occasionally (package of 3 replacements available most places) and keep them rinsed after use to get the chlorine off. The straps do degrade more rapidly than the goggles, but still last almost a year when used 3hours per week. And the silicone gasket around the eyes is the most comfortable I've ever found. It block leakage perfectly IF PROPERLY ADJUSTED. Users should be aware that the nose bridge is the most important thing to adjust. Too wide or too narrow and the goggles will not seat or seal around the user's eye sockets. Experiment. You'll eventually find the sweet spot.

An old standby!
I've been using this model of goggle for decades. It's not the sleekest or most fashionable pair of googles, but they are very comfortable and keep the water out well. Also, the nose piece and straps are easily adjustable. These are excellent casual or practice swimming goggles!

TYR are the best goggles around
I use TYR Racetech goggles. I've been fortunate, in the past, to have every make of goggles sent to me for testing. TYR Racetech are the only goggles that never leak or fog. They are comfortable to wear and extremely clear. During a 5,000m session they never need adjusting, never leak and never mist.

Uncomfortable, poor quality
Uncomfortable and leak. Not suitable for regular use, e.g. twice a week. Bought these to replace my worn out Nest Pros but they don't do the job. Have since spent the extra $15 for Nest Pros.
