VandorenSR264R Alto Sax JAVA Red Reeds Strength 4; Box of 10

I recently switched to Vandoren reeds from another brand that i purchased in a music store. I got these on Amazon, because I needed something quickly. But, I like them, so I've purchased them several consecutive times. So far, the quality seems good (I'm a sax player, so I guess I'm used to a percentage of reeds not working so well, no matter what the brand is)

This is my favorite type of reed to play on for any type of genre of music. I used a box for marching band and I enjoyed the fact that it didn’t dry out very fast and 1 reed lasted me a very long time.

Any one who plays the saxophone knows that out of 10 reeds you may get 6 good one that play good out of the box. So I make a few adjustments and keep looking for alternatives.

Purchased as a birthday gift for my granddaughter. She is really serious about her saxophone. These were recommended to her by another student in HS jazz band.

These are nice, firm reeds. I'm like Goldilocks with reeds... some are too hard, some are too soft, I could not find what I liked to make me sound better. These suit me.

I think these last longer than the green 2.5, which seem to get soft too soon. I couldnt use a green 3, and found that the Red 2 is actually stiffer than green 2.5..Using with a size 6 mpc, seems to have a really good punch

I’ve been using these reeds for 8 years and have been very consistent per box to reed ratio. I play 2 and 1/2 and is great with response on my Theo wanne Durga 1st generation size 8 mouthpiece.

Rich tone, that pairs nicely with both my Yamaha 5c mouthpiece and jodyjazz 7m. Definitely my favourite from this company.Be sure to check out their variety pack if you're unsure!I must say however, there were a few duds in the pack; unfortunately this seems to be the norm. Altogether, I'm pleased with the purchase.

Changed reeds for the first time in a while and very happy with these.

excellent reeds suits rock, jazz, soul, funk, pop style of music. Use the Vandoren Traditional for classical music. Although like all reeds cos they're a natural product..expect some reeds to be better than others..

Whilst these reeds are a little more expensive than the basic ones they give a better tone and last longer

Only one reed .. don't be misled by the price drop, apparently it's a mistake from Amazon

As usual with Vandoren reeds, excellent quality. And great tone.
