Great Book!
Having deployed Firepower in the past, It is a bit overwhelming the sheer number of 'nerd-knobs' that are there. Which ones need tweaking and which ones do you wish you left alone? This book does an excellent job of boiling things down and telling you why the recommendations make sense. If you have just been handed off a Firepower implementation and you're looking to get grounded, this is a go-to source. Additionally, if you're a consultant that has been rolling these out to customers, this book will help you ensure consistency across your projects.

THE BEST FIREPOWER (FTD) FINE TUNING BOOK!!!!
This book was recommended by Todd Lammle ( an amazing INE.COM security instructor by the way :-) ).I purchased this book, just went through half of the book and can't wait until the end in order to leave a great reviews about this book!!I have been working with FirePower (FTD) for sometime, taking multiple training and classes, but this book will drill down into one of the most important part of FirewPower (FTD) (from my point of view :-) - on how to best fine tune it!!Also, Alex Tatistcheff explained some topics that was not clear to me, since other materials could not explained it very well. There are no difficult materials exist - there are either bad or great instructors. And Alex did an amazing work to make this book very clear, easy to read and especially to understand some unclear subjects!!Hope more and more security books will be written by Alex!!Great work!!!Thank you.

Must read if you manage Firepower
Firmly fixed my understanding and proficiency in this product. The author is infinitely knowledgeable on Firepower and gives reasons for why or why not to manage aspects of Firepower. Alex also gives the how!

Buy only if you use FMC
While this book seems to be well thought-out and informative for FirePower, if you use FDM or CDO, feel free to pass on this listing. The author states early in the book that FDM is not addressed at all. FMC is pretty awful to deal with, but if you use it, this book is for you.

Misleading title
Being new to FTD, I was hoping it would cover the essentials. It only covers FirePower with the expensive FMC management. It does not cover FirePower Device Manager (FDM), which is the stand-alone GUI, and what most new users would need.

Do I need glasses?
Content is great but images/screen shots (of which there are many) are blurry at best and unreadable at worst.

Really handy Best Practice guide
This is a really good book that focusses on the tasks to get up and running. It's a handy reference guide and a great place to start for those learning Firepower. The author clearly knows the subject area as is reflected in the writing style and chapter structure. It's not full of information that one would never use. In fact the author highlights areas that probably are not of huge importance. The book is always in my work rucksack and has been invaluable. However, having bought the book about 5 weeks ago the thing that I constantly look for that is not included is an index. I would still recommend the book even without the index.
