All of the fires here in the glorious state of CA have certainly put the fear of God into a lot of folks - us too, of course - and we want to be ready! My big idea was to purchase two of these bags, with the thought of leaving one bag near each of our two exit doors. The plan is to stuff them with ALL of the info that one would need in a time of complete disaster, such as: important phone numbers, email addresses, passwords, cash, insurance policy numbers, (some) photos, and anything else that we can come up with that would be required/helpful/precious to us at disaster gathering sites so that we could get back on our feet as quickly as possible. We've heard that lots of folks have been completely unprepared, and they've had a hard time, to say the very least. We are planning on these bags to be easily grabbed as we would take flight through one of our doors. The crossbody strap should help us even more, allowing us to be able to more easily pick up additional items, including our pets. Needless to say, my husband was thrilled with this purchase, as he has been after me for ages to help him create an m.o. to help organize us in this regard. Now, we have to get to work and stuff our bags with info! The sides of these bags are soft-sided and appear to be able to even accept the addition of a laptop plus even a small purse, in a pinch. This is a great piece of safety equipment to have, especially if you live in California like I do. It’s made well, it has plenty of space for documents, jewelry, small boxes or packages, even a laptop. It’s quite spacious, the measurements are 17”x 12”x 6” Fireproof material with zipper and flap cover to protect the materials inside as well as the zipper on the exterior. Comes with a strap for easy transport. Empty weight is very little. I was able to get all of our valuables and documents that turned out to be under 6lbs. For kicks I shoved in my laptop to see if I could get it to close and see how flexible the bag would become. It worked fine. Total weight in my test was about 10lbs.

I got this for moving across the country, and because it seems like a good alternative to a giant safe. I dont want to be leaving sensative documents in my vehicle or trailer so this seemed like a good way to keep it simple. I can carry it into the motel with us and wont have to worry about information being stolen. The material is dense. Its got a slightly waxy texture to it. You can tell it will repell water. Its also deceptive, in that it looks really lightweight, but is actually heavy material. You can tell its durable when you pick it up. Im not going to light it on fire to test that haha. But it seems like it could withstand a fire based on the insulation. The only reason I gave this product an overall 4/5, is that the strap is super flimsy. It has plastic clasps and I worry If I were to really load this up, that they would snap. Obviously thats an easy thing to replace if it were to happen. Whats important is that my documents, delpomas and such are safe.

The fire proof and water resistant bag just arrived but part of the zipper is not sewed to the bag. I ordered this fireproof and water-resistant bag based on other users’ positive comments. However, the first received bag was returned since part of the zipper is not sewed to the bag. Surprising this company has a fantastical customer service; a new quality replacement document bag was delivered to me quickly without charge. This bag is heavy duty, light weight, well made. The bag is neat it has straps like a shoulder bag. I keep importance document in it, and my laptop can go in too. Overall satisfied with this product and customer service.

I have lots of older photos, film negatives and some CDs I needed stored in a more protective way and these fireproof/waterproof cases are the way to go! You get a long strap you can attach to this case if you need it. Of course, it has a standard built-in handle on it to carry it like a suitcase or briefcase. It holds quite a bit of photos and other items and it zips up. You can put a small lock on it if you like, but I would not store important paperwork and such in one of these and get a fireproof safe or big strong box for those sorts of things. Not sure if it's really fire or water proof and hope I never find out. 5 stars I gave this product.....it works well enough for me and ordering another one now.

This bag is huge, so make sure you need it this large or will fit the space. Sides are firm, top zipper and flap will protect the contents from fire, smoke or water without a doubt. If property zipped and covered water should not enter unless submerged in water for more than a few seconds. Highly recommend if you need a large bag that is fire and waterproof.

Appreciate that the case is water and fire proof but, do not like that there are no dividers or compartments in the case! Papers put in the case tend to fall over and do not stay in order!

This is great for all your important papers and files. Even though the bag measures 17" you cannot fit a 16" - 17" laptop in it because the zipper at the top doesn't allow the space needed. You cannot angle the laptop to fit unless it is smaller than 16". It is very well made and very durable. I suggest to purchase an 18" bag if you have a laptop 16" or more.

I don’t like it. Funny looks. For this cost I could have purchased a nice suitcase or briefcase, waste of money. May use to buy fish.
