Waterproof - Yes. Will protect phone in Extreme conditions - No.
I am providing feedback on the iphone XR case. Several different case styles are listed together so it is very hard to see what comments apply to what case.First it is not easy to squeeze the phone into the opening in the flexible rubber material. The XR sits in a secondary tray that is too big for it and is probably designed to hold the 'max' this means rubber pads that sit over the side buttons don't align well and the camera and flash do not sit centrally in the lens area. The lens is flat not curved or domed which could improve the underwater view. There are no colored filters like the X/XS version. The front of the case is just a thin flexible balloon like clear material that does not provide much protection for the phone (compared to the rest of the case which is rugged on the sides and back) . The front rubber could easily be pinched or punctured by keys or sand or anything sharp which would let water in. Ironically the description actually mentions the case can be used to store keys. The method of pumping air in to the case to allow the touch screen to function is different but not very successful.Using the side volume button to take images worked much better. In summary, it gets three stars because in my testing it was waterproof , however the flimsy thin covering on the front of the bag is a weak point and does not offer the level of protection or robustness of the sides and back of the case. As such I do not feel this is suitable for use in the extreme conditions or sports claimed on the description.I would return this , but after just one test use it already looks well used.

No leaks and no pictures
Works great for surface activities like swimming pools and lakes but does NOT work as advertised for scuba diving. I have had this for a year and was not able to take any pictures underwater while diving. There is a good quality seal and no water leaks but was not worth it because I could not use it scuba diving at a depth of 15m. We took it on multiple dives and tried it at different depths, all to no avail.

It’s a tough one
Giving it 5* because it does what it promises. I took some great photos and videos with it. However it’s not a permanent solution or a 100% error proof device. Even though you inflate the front so that under pressure of the water your screen doesn’t go crazy thinking you are just pressing it everywhere, things still happen. Your video can get shit off, or pictures don’t get taken because while you are pressing on one side of the screen (or using side buttons) the water pushes somewhere on another side of the screen and the phone is confused. With a little practice and understand of how it works you can still use it for some cool shots until you get a GoPro )))Some photos I took under water using this case on my iPhone XS.

Protects your phone. Takes pictures only as good as your phone and your skills!
Worked like a charm, at least down to about 20 feet. I couldn’t test it any further down. It’s pretty easy to use and mostly has the right buttons. Definitely DO NOT review pictures underwater! There’s no way to get it back to the camera mode! Otherwise it works great. The filters are pretty cool, but perhaps a little too easy to accidentally turn on. It’s a little hard to see the screen underwater but that’s more a function of iPhones not being bright enough outdoors. Oh well. Basically this thing does what it says it does. You could probably get better pictures with a dedicated underwater camera, but most are significantly more expensive than this case, so...

TERRIBLE DESIGN!!!! POS
This is the most poorly designed Chinese p.o.s.. it’s supposedly is designed to work with the iPhone X... however, the button layout is screwy. To begin with, there is a button at the top which turns your iPhone on or off. The problem is that if you accidentally tap that button while underwater, there is no way to unlock your phone without swiping up which of course requires you to open the case... kind of hard to do under water. My first dive with it results in me tapping the button so no photos on my first dive. For my second dive, I put tape around the useless button and was able to take a few photos before accidentally hitting the playback button. Again, no way back to the camera from there... so again I wad screwed for the remainder of the dive. Sending back to amazon for a refund ASAP.

Cheaply made and difficult to use touchscreen
Response on the touchscreen wasn’t very good and also not easy to use. It did keep the phone dry in 5ft of shallow water. Also the parts are cheaply made.

complicated operation, not a real solution for iphone X
Good product quality, but complicated to put everything together, once armed, hard to operate the phone, selfie cam / face ID is absent. overall usage is low.
