This fitted sheet style pad is sized to even fit pillow-top mattresses comfortably. Its cotton, terry-cloth fabric toplayer is soft and comfortable under your sheets. Guaranteed against leaks or tears for 10 years or the factory will replace the pad at no cost. (Twin XX-Large Size: 38x84x14 in.) Wash before use for best results. Do not bleach or dry clean.

Read the Fine Print
I purchased this to protect my toddler's mattress during potty training. I have a total of 3, so I can switch out whenever there is an "accident". After one accident, I noticed that the urine went right through the protector. Luckily, I had two on the bed, so no damage was done. I called Protect-A-Bed, and they sent a replacement protector right away.A few accidents later, and I discovered another protector that failed. When I called the Company, they told me there was nothing they could do for me, since I had already filed a claim with them within the past 10 years. I explained that it wasn't the same protector that had failed the first time (I threw that one away), and they said it didn't matter. The fine print on the warranty states that they will only honor one claim in a ten year time period.Thankfully the mattress wasn't ruined, but if it was, they wouldn't have done anything for me, despite the fact that the mattress is only a year old.Basically, it's okay to take a chance on this one time, but if you ever have a second failure, it is no longer the Company's fault- it is yours for buying it!

Great protector with a shelf life.
First of all these protectors do work but it appears they have a shelf life or my washing regime may had damaged them. I have them on all my mattresses and never experienced an issue up until this year, so 3 years of piece of mind. The good thing is the company does in fact stand behind their products. Once you provide them your receipt they will issue a replacement without many more questions. I was happy to see such a supportive company. As for the cover itself it does not cause any heat issues with the mattress so it wears well. You barely know it's on the mattress until your child spills something on it. Follow instructions and don't wash in any bleach since that will break down the protector, which might have been my issue. Just not sure.Update: Company was approached again reference the protector becoming defective in a year. They advised that the replacement product has no warranty, so only one protector will be provided. I went with a competitor so hopefully have better luck.

I have three
I got one free with the purchase of my mattress. I became a believer in this product after spilling red wine on the bed and not a drop got through to the mattress. Then I had kids and bought one for each of their beds. I've never had an issue with anything (urine, vomit, drinks) staining the mattress. You do need to follow the directions for laundering. That was something the sales person at the mattress store told me. Apparently if you dry it on too high of heat, it will break down & not be effective. I try to wash mine in the morning and line dry it. I've had mine for 4 years now and it's still working great.Update: As my son is now 6 and is still having nighttime accidents. This protector no longer keeps the mattress dry due to the increased volume of urine. I still have one on my bed and my daughter's bed & I have realized that if you catch spills quickly, it will not leak through. However, if a child is a heavy bed wetter & does not wake up to have the bed changed, then it leaks. I've resorted to wrapping the bed in plastic and putting this on top of the plastic. I've changed my review from 5 stars to 3 stars

So far, so good.
I bought this protector thinking it would cover the entire mattress. I should have read a bit more carefully, as it's simply a cover for the top/sides. I had a brand-new mattress and didn't want to sleep with it even once without a protector, so I put it on even though it was not quite what I wanted. In my opinion, the terry cloth is a bit stiff. I have washed the protector a few times now, in cold water only and with very mild detergent. I have never placed it in the dryer, or used a fabric softener. Maybe air-drying is the reason the terry feels rough, but I don't dare to put it in the dryer based on other reviews (though the instructions clearly state one may do so). Once I got some higher-quality cotton sheets the texture beneath me was no longer noticeable. I should mention the sides are deep, and tuck way under the edges of the bed. They should accommodate a seriously thick mattress! My bed is under a large window. I recently left the window open during a an overnight trip, and a violent thunderstorm rolled over my area. I returned to quite the mess: things blown off the nightstand, huge puddles on the floor, drenched curtains, and thoroughly soaked bedding. The pillows were literally sopping wet, the down comforter dripping on the floor. Despite this, the mattress was bone dry, and the Protect-A-Bed did it's job. So far, I'm very pleased with its performance.EDIT: Product in use since March 03, 2012

Do not believe salesmen in stores with protectabed
Liquids leak through with time. Once it fails your mattress is no longer protected by the warranty they stores say it has when you buy it. So if you want a mediocre cover this is fine, but don't expect them to help you out if you have a leak go through (despite what salesmen say in the store.)

Horrible!
Bought this to protect my newly purchased 5000.00 Tempurpeadic mattress. Last night my toddler peed on my bed... went right through to my mattress, which I WAS going to exchange because it’s too firm but guess I’m stuck with it now. This is fraudulent to advertise these as waterproof!

Is not waterproof!!
If I could give a negative rating I would. Supposed to be waterproof and repel urine. Instead my mattress is completely soaked and ruined when the dog had a small accident. Avoid at all costs.
