A lovely story about trust, forgiveness and pain
This was a wonderful story with a great plot that keeps you well entertained. I am not sure I would call this was a mail order bride story since the two met once at the sisters wedding and wrote to each other which will keep you smiling and laughing at these two get on each other’s nerves trying to get the best of the other. It really isn’t decided to get married until Claire’s father makes her feel like she isn’t good enough to help run the business than she goes to visit her sister. Things happen that will help them both if they marry. Claire has always loved Marcus but he isn’t too crazy about her. There back and forwards mail is truly entertaining and will have you laughing. When I think of a mail order bride it is when both parties write and decide to marry which isn’t the case here. That is not to say that this isn’t a wonderful story it is as you will come to find out.The narration with Mr. Bennett is wonderful the only thing I find amiss is the Indians. For me their English is too well spoken, I think they should have been more of a broken English maybe it is just me but that is how I always saw it in other areas. Beside the above the character voices fit the characters very well. Given wonderful emotions, feelings, and excitement to each character. There are no repeats of words, the volume isn’t high or low at any place if any breaks were taken you could not tell. It was easy to tell who was talking both the female and male voices were outstanding delivered with just the right amount of emotion, passion that really draws you into the story. His tones are even giving the correct emotion for what was going on leaving you in no doubt what each one was feeling. You feel the sorrow, hurt, pain and excitement of each character. This is one narrator that knows how to deliver you a compelling listen that keeps you invested as he gives you a wonderful listen.Clair is so cute, funny, truly a wonderful character that knows what she wants and works on how to go about getting it. The misunderstandings between the two are very humorous. She is a strong will character who isn’t afraid to stand up for what she believes or wants. I really liked her a lot.Marcus is something else with his wild ways and where in the devil did he learn to make such drinks? He has a very big secret that is about to land him in trouble with his family. He needs Clair to help him in more ways than one. Even though he doesn’t care for her with her better than his ways he is still drawn to her when they met again. The chemistry between these two you can feel come off the pages as they go back and forward baiting the other. I really laughed at these two and their tempters which get in the way and made this a highly entertaining listen. Nothing like a good fight to get the blood pumping this really was a very funny story at times.I loved this story it truly is a story with a lot going on really a story inside a story. You really feel Claire and Marcus pain why understanding each brother and why he feels the way he does. Here you won’t see Indians being hurt, taking things from them or them stealing just to stay alive what you find is a truly wonderful tribe that loves, lives and gives back to their families whether they be Indian or the white man. Marcus story is a very touching one from before he was born to his adulthood. This is a story about forgiveness and trust about things not always as they seem, getting over issues and finding a way to make life better. There is so much more than the summary gives you it does not do justice to this book. It truly is a great story that will touch your heart giving you a wonderful feeling and making you smile throughout as it pulls on your heart.

Good Western Romance
Claire travels to Montana for her sister Maddie's wedding to rancher Seth Samuels. She meets the youngest Samuels brother, Marcus, and she fall in love with him. She returns later, and they connect. Tests come their way. They will find the fortitude to withstand the tests or end up with broken hearts. -- I loved Marcus. He is my favorite character in the book. He is fun, smart, reliable, and trustworthy. He taught Maddie how to have fun and relax. He helped everyone around him have fun. This is an unusual book. There are some disappointments, but it is a good read.

Another wonderful story from this writer! Highly recommend this series.
This is the third book in this series & you definitely need to read them in order as it would be confusing otherwise. So, we have three brothers from Montana, Dean, Seth, & Marcus. Three sisters from Pennsylvania, Tessa, Maddie & Claire. This one is about Marcus & Claire. They have exchanged letters & after Claire visits Montana with her parents at Maddie's wedding & returning home she decides she wants to live in Montana & the only way to make that happen is to marry Marcus. No problem as she's been in love with him for 3 years & after meeting him she's convinced he's the one for her. Marcus agrees to marry her on the condition that she will help him with a problem he has to which she readily agrees. The only problem is that Marcus has a secret that he's kept from his family for 13 years & it's going to change everyone's lives. There are several surprises along the way & the reader easily becomes submerged in the story. My only problem with this book was that there were several phrases used that did not fit the time period it was supposed to take place in. Example is when Marcus said that Claire "knew how to push his buttons" & Marcus telling Seth to "zip it." I find it hard to believe that modern lingo was in use at that time. The other books in the series had a few of these modern phrases but not as many as in this one. Otherwise it was an extremely well written story that I would recommend to anyone desiring a good clean read.

This is a clean romantic historical western that will capture your heart.
This is a clean romantic historical western that will capture your heart. Claire and Marcus have been protagonists ever since they met at a family wedding 3 years ago. They have been writing back and forth ever since--and always semi arguing. Claire is a highly intelligent female who will be getting a college degree. Marcus is highly intelligent also--but no college for him. He is too busy helping out at his families ranch.Marcus has been hiding a secret ever since his Mom died. Then something is delivered to his door--the secret has to come out. Claire has come for another family get together and he tells her his secret--she agrees to help him--they end up getting married. Will his family come to terms with the secret--what will it take? The road is a rocky one to put it mildly.I ended up reading this in one sitting--it was too good to put down--and besides I wanted to know what happened!

Young man loving a woman suddenly find himself father of a baby girl (by someone else) and his secret is forced into the open...
Westward Bound is a fun Olde West bride story with just enough surprise and angst to make it good.Claire traveled to Montana to attend her sister Maddie's wedding to Seth Samuels and came to know the youngest Samuels brother, Marcus. They fell for each other, but Marcus was keeping a secret he had kept for over a dozen years... and that secret was forced into the open when he suddenly found himself the father of a baby girl... Can he explain the circumstances to his family? Will Claire accept him as he is? When the family suffered a medical emergency, will Marcus's extra knowledge be enough to save the day?Wow, sudden baby trope in the Olde West! That's at least, a good twist. It's also a nice tie-in that his extra background (which I am NOT spoiling) came in handy for that medical emergency at the end.

sad to see it end
I laughed so hard at the dance scene. I don't remember the last time a book made me laugh so hard and I just so fell in love with this family that I didn't want them to end. I knew it had to but I didn't want it to anyways. This book was my favourite It had humor, love seriousness and many life lessons.
