I loved book 1 but book 2 took my breath away. I was on the edge of my chair. Loved these books. Cora and Marcus Ubeli are such an amazing couple. Marcus is scary as hell! Can't wait to start next book.

I burned through this second book about as fast as I did the first one. The story was well written and I couldn't put it down. I was disappointed when I come to the end of this book only to find it wasn't the end and the next book wasn't out yet. I held off on my review as I knew I would have to re-read a few of the last chapters in this book before I could read book three. I can't wait!!!

This author duo has done it again! Awakening (A Dark Mafia Romance Book 2) by Lee Savino and Stasia Black is a very well written dark mafia romance with tons of feels that reels the reader in and grips your heart through your throat. Cora struggles to hide her vulnerabilities and fails to resist her mafia husband, Marcus. Marcus, the uber alpha mafia boss, tries to deny and resist Cora, yet fails spectacularly. Love it when these strong guys finally admit and accept love!Having read the first book in this series, I was constantly waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop throughout which truly had me on the edge of my seat and dreading having to put this book down. The drama of the plot, as well as the interactions between Cora and Marcus are explosively compelling. Between the suspense, violence and danger, budding friendships, twists and turns, downright gritty and raw chemistry this is a book not to be missed. Overall, absolutely fantastic and well worth the five star rating and then some.I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

Oh. My. Gawwwwd. Marcus and the delicious punishments and games he plays with Cora. This series will keep you on the edge, one that you will read and reread. A dark, twisted, storyline that promises to keep those panties damp. Uhg. I found myself cringing at the trouble I knew Cora was getting herself into, wanting to put the book down but desperate to know what happened! Do yourself a favor - READ IT

Another pawn? Many moving pieces and players in this one.Book 2 compared to the first in the series seems to have a bit of a different writing style. I disliked how Marcus's character was written and how whimpering Cora was when she was with him vice when with friends or out and about. He was even more condescending and would continuously humiliate her.However, know it's written this way to lead their lives into the third, and last, installment to the trilogy.His darkness can only be overcome by her light. But, she needs to be more than his princess, she needs to become a Queen to take the King of the Underworld head on.

Wow, just wow. Cora knew her husband was the head of a "mob". She knew from the beginning that he was ruthless after she married him. However, she hadn't seen the brutality he possessed until she saw him kill their enemy. Now what will she do? Will she join him in his business or runaway? I'm looking forward to finding out her choice.

Cora and Marcus are strongly attracted to each other. In between steamy scenes, they face the dangers of a rival mob trying to take Marcus's empire from him. There is action and suspense. My only complaint is how naive Cora is. She does some really stupid things. The consensus of her actions haunt her. I like how Cora discovers different sides of Marcus's character. He is damaged by his past. I like the political intrigue.

She loves him with all her heart but is that enough. He’s the King of the Underworld but is she merely his toy, his revenge? Or his love? Will he forgive her for what she’s done trying to help her friends or will it be over?

I have read book 1 also and both books I haven’t manage to put them done! So exiting and really really thrilling! Love the storyline its amazing, well worth the reed.

The Story is as captivating as every story i have read by these author before. Love up and down with several real or estimated problems on both sides. Whats stunning is the dullness or stupidity with which Cora goes through her life. Even as she has been a pure girl before she lives in the city and with the mob long enough she has to know better than forgo any caution and run into danger again and again and also throw other people including her beloved husband and best friends into it. If their would be a price for worlds ' most stupid' it would definitely go to her. Interesting how she is going to come out of it.

I still love the characters, they are written very well. I still can't seem to get over Cora's character... I mean her mom had hidden her way, but for her to still be so naive this far into the book makes me wish someone would just kick her in the ass to get her head out.. so glad you broke more away from all the explicit sex scenes that seems to last a bit to long.....

I enjoyed the second installment of this trilogy.Marcus and Cora find love but will the light overcome the darkness.Enjoyed the cliffhanger.

This is a good book and I enjoyed reading it. Looking forward to the third instalment to see what happens.
