Great resource for traveling to the Philippines. Very detailed information - many maps and information about many, many areas besides the usual tourist spots.

Great quick resource for finding key activities. Maps of key spots. Not too many pictures, but many top 10 type lists and phone numbers, web sites, cost range, narrative on description of event or hotel or eating or other activities or geographical area. Great organization with good index and legend.

I am just about to put the book to the test for a month. The book is well-written with tips on where to stay, how to get there and what to avoid.

Good help to find places to stay overnight, however it not cover all options. This is the tool you need to plan your trip.

Best PI guide out there. I'e been to the PI at least 10 times, and this book always reveals surprises and thoughtful insight. Lonely Planet delivers again.

The book gives a good foundation, but it's best to travel with your head not in a book. I read the guide a week before I left for the Philippines on a 2-month backpacking trip. I decided to not take the book, honestly just so that I wouldn't be carrying the extra weight. Guess what? I didn't need it.

I use the Lonely Planet series to prepare for trips. I study the travel guide and take notes. But, the books a too thick and heavy to take on the trip. Use them to prepare and leave them at home. Photographing the most important pages with your smart phone is a good way to take the information with you.

LP never lets me down! It has the best suggestions ranging from dirt cheap hole-in-the-wall finds, but classy 5 star recommendations. It is curtailed to all travelers with all tastes. I'll never use another travel guide again!
