works great as a tabletop tripod, grabbing onto stuff, or even as a chest brace for longer shutter speeds. I have never left this home when going out with the camera and family as it's perfect for family self portraits.

What I liked about the JOBY GorillaPod 3K PRO Stand was that it was much more stable than my old off brand stand. It's sturdy, stable, and somewhat lightweight. I wouldn't worry about it being a bit heavier than my old stand because it makes up for it by being heavy-duty. I can drop it from an average height and it wouldn't break. What I didn't like was that when I tried to wrap it around a fence, one of the pieces came off from one of the legs. It was really difficult trying to put it back on, I almost sent it back. Luckily I was able to finally put it back on and I haven't tried wrapping it around anything ever since. I wouldn't recommend wrapping it around anything for the sake of not having the same thing happen to you.

After contacting their customer support for warranty assistance they've basically weaseled out of supporting their products. A good gauge of a company is how well they treat their customers after a sale and, unfortunately, they've shown their true colours, they simply don't give a s*** about their customers once they've got your money. Their product failed me in less than a year with light use (I used it as a desktop tripod and basically kept it in the same position the whole time). The parent company, Vitec, also owns Manfrotto, Lowepro, Gitzo, as well as many other brands so it's impossible to avoid them altogether, however, it's important to warn people away from them whenever possible after being treated like garbage.

I ordered this Joby GorillaPod from Amazon expecting a brand new product, but unfortunately what I received was disappointing. The tripod that was delivered had visible fungus like white spots all over the legs and joints. Because of this, the rubber grips on the arms already seem worn out and slightly eroded. The texture doesn’t feel fresh or new at all. It honestly looks like old stock that was stored improperly in a humid environment. This is not what you expect when paying for a premium brand like Joby. The GorillaPod is known for its durability and grip strength, but receiving it in this condition raises concerns about longevity and hygiene. Very disappointed with the seller’s quality control. I would strongly recommend checking the product carefully if you order from this seller.

Good qaulity & well thought out midweight tripod

Great company to deal with. Fast and efficient, item was packaged very well to prevent damage. Gorillapod works great for low angle photography and even better for placing auxiliary flash units.

Die Kugelgelenke zeigen starke Abnutzungsspuren nach wenigen Stunden (!) der Benutzung. Der Gorillapod hat noch nicht meine Wohnung verlassen, und ist nie mit Sand, Staub oder Schmutz in Berührung gekommen. Nach dem ersten Ausprobieren halte ich ein beschädigtes Produkt in der Hand, für das ich über 80€ bezahlt habe. Die Kugelgelenke bestehen aus Metall, die Oberfläche ist mit einer Beschichtung versiegelt. Diese Beschichtung ist offensichtlich für den Zweck völlig ungeeignet, weil sie beim Bewegen der Beine abgeschabt wird und zerbröselt. 1 Stern dafür, dass der Gorillapod im Wesentlichen das tut, was man erwartet. Aber für den Preis ist so eine Qualität völlig inakzeptabel. Nachtrag: die Kugelgelenke bestehen NICHT aus Metall (was man erwarten würde, wenn man die Produktbeschreibung liest) Nur die obere Hälfte der Gelenke besteht aus Metall, während der innere Teil aus dem gleichen Plastik besteht wie bei den günstigen Gorillapods. Man würde von der teuren "PRO" Version eine bessere Haltbarkeit erwarten, aber das genaue Gegenteil ist der Fall. Das harte Metall reibt über den weichen Kunststoff und verschleißt ihn dabei so stark, dass nach kurzer Zeit deutliche Kratzer entstehen. Hier wurde ein Produkt konstruiert, das sich bei jeder Benutzung schrittweise selbst kaputt macht.
