Everything Leads to You

A bit different from her usual
I found this book very different from the Nina LaCour books I have previously read, but also builds characters as well as always.Nice story set in LA where two best friends involved in the movie industry come across something in a house content sale, thereby embarking on an interesting journey involving Ava. I loved all the main characters and Ava's best friend Jamal. A journey of discovery for all involved. A story about love and family. The backdrop of the Hollywood movie industry left me cold as I have little interest in such things, but the story and characters raised this one well above the average, making the setting not so important.

So a Good Book!
I loved this book. It was an honest look at love, heartbreak, and friendship. It is beautiful. To be honest, the thing that drew me to this book was the cover. It is absolutely beautiful. I had cover lust when I first saw it, and wanted the book because of it alone. Just—everything about that cover. I bought this book because of the cover alone, and it was the best decision I made.I’m so much better with imaginary people and their imaginary lives. -pg. 79The main character, Emi is in highschool, interning as a set designer that her on-again-off-again girlfriend, Morgan, got for her. After having been broken up with for the sixth time, she needs something to distract her from her heartache. When she and her best friend Charlotte attend the estate sale of the late Clyde Wilder, it leads them to Ava. She is unlike anyone that Emi has ever met, and soon, she finds herself with a crush on Ava.What’s the use in waiting until the right moment if that moment never comes?“ I say. "What if the moment escapes you in a split second when your focus was elsewhere? -pg. 284Besides the Emi's story, I learned more about the movie industry than I thought I would. It was a look into the magic that goes into the movie sets, and just how much work it is. I loved that. When books usually deal with the movie industry, it's with actors, actresses, producers, directors, etc. But this one was behind the scenes, and I loved that. For all that I loved Emi and Ava, my favorite character was probably Charlotte. She was there for Emi through everything. She is the friend that I hope I am to my friends-someone who is there through thick and thin, and is the shoulder to lean on and the person to vent to. I just loved her.I blew through this book. I was finally able to sit down with it last night, and once I did, I couldn't put it down. This is a great, light read, something that would be a good summer read. Nina LaCour's writing is beautiful. Definitely give this book a try!

What a wonderful novel this is - a love story, a mystery, and a gorgeous glimpse inside the world of movie-making.

Different in a great way
“What’s the use in waiting until the right moment if that moment never comes?” I say. “What if the moment escapes you in the split second when your focus was elsewhere?” “I thought that her story was comprised of scenes. I thought the tragedy could be glamorous and her grief could be undone by a sunnier future. I thought we could pinpoint dramatic events on a time line and call it a life. But I was wrong.” “There are no scenes in life, there are only minutes. And none are skipped over and they all lead to the next.” “Fairy tales are all about innocence and ill will and the inevitability of terrible things.”+ • + • + • +A unique storyline made this a very entertaining book. Very enjoyable with nice flow, interesting narrative & relatable characters made it an easy read. This story was absolute perfection!!! With every page I read, the more I identified with & felt connected to these characters then the more I became invested in their journey of revealing pieces of themselves & exploring each other.

Absolutely Beautiful
This isn’t a fluff book, it delves into what it means to be human and I don’t say that lightly. I’m going to be honest, I didn’t expect it, it wasn’t even what I was looking for at the time. I was in it for the mystery and the gays but “Everything Leads to You” is so much more than that. This book hurt, the characters are so raw, so real. And Emi has such a beautiful journey in understanding that. In a way, she’s been sheltered from seeing what tragedy and pain actually looks like and her journey forces her to confront that in such a beautiful way. Even the end, especially the end, is perfect. When I realized I was only a few pages from the end, I started to worry. “No, it can’t end here,” I thought. “There’s so much I still want to know.” I worried that there wouldn’t be enough closure. But I should have trusted Nina, of course she ended it as beautifully as she had written the rest of the story. And, (spoiler) we got a happy ending! A happy ending that warmed my heart after it had spent the majority of the book aching. In conclusion, read this book! I, for one, will be reading ALL of Nina’s books that I can get my hands on.

Bonito
The media could not be loaded. O livro chegou bem embalado e parece bom a textura um pouco estranha e as páginas são um pouco mas brancas que o normal creio que seja feita de material reciclados ou orgânicos.

Very lovely
I liked the main character very much. The love plot is an afterthought but it's still very nice.
